BBC Radio 1 is a really great station - really a lot better than any of the American stations I've ever listened to - and they also get some great guests. Hugh Jackman has been hanging around lately, and he decided to play Radio 1's "Innuendo Bingo" with one of their hosts, Scott Mills, and special guest host Kylie Minogue.
This doesn't need much introduction - it's just fun and amusing.

Look, One Direction has really catchy songs, okay? Just starting to type this article, I have 'Story of My Life' stuck in my head (and if you've ever heard it before, you probably do too, now) and I'm not ashamed to say I have the latest album in my iTunes. I've never listened to it, but I do own it and maybe I will one day! So what, who cares? Even Chris Martin loves them!
Here's what the Coldplay frontman told BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe:
"I think One Direction are the biggest band in the worl...
Hugh Jackman has always seemed to me like a pretty chill, down-to-earth guy, and he proved what a great sport he is during a recent interview with BBC Radio 1. He was handed a set of lyrics about his role as Wolverine set to the music from 'Who Am I?' from Les Mis and he jumped right into it when asked if he'd sing it live on air. The results are amazing, as you can tell.
This was pretty impressive - that is, until that last note! Ha. Good for Hugh - this could become a worldwide hit... or not, but it's still ...
Christina Aguilera and A Great Big World (stupid name) performed their single, 'Say Something' on The Voice a couple of weeks ago and it really freaked me out because I swear I've heard this song somewhere a LONG time ago and I can't figure out where. In a movie? A TV show? I don't really listen to the radio besides Radio 1, so I'm not sure where it could have been, but anyway, it's an okay song, even if it is a little dramatic/cut out for a Nicholas Sparks movie.
It's nice seeing Christina doing something that's a bit more scaled back and isn't all over the vocal charts. As she often coaches her contestants on The Voice, sometimes less is more and you don't need be running scales every five seconds to prove that you're a good singer. Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to watch The Notebook.

In case you missed it, Britney Spears' new album will be called Britney Jean and it's gonna be... I dunno, probably slightly disappointing but still totally listenable, if 'Work Bitch' is anything to go by. She's also just inked a deal for a Las Vegas residency but despite all this being on the horizon, she's already looking forward to taking a long break.
Appearing on Nick Grimshaw's Breakfast Show on Radio 1 this morning, Britney was asked if she'd ever have imagined she'd be putting out an eighth album, to which she put on an English accent and r...
Kanye West and Jimmy Kimmel have been having major drama - like 6th grade girls fighting over a mutual crush drama - but they decided to try and awkwardly bury the hatchet on Jimmy's show on Wednesday night. Kanye appeared and not only sorta kinda apologized for maybe overreacting just a tiny bit, but also felt the need to proclaim his own genius yet again and came off just as egotistical as ever.
In case you have no idea what any of this is about, allow me to catch you up quickly: Kanye did that balls-t0-the-wall insane interview o...
Oh, Kanye, ever the gentleman. On one hand, I get it - when you're rich, it must be really hard to date someone that's not "in the business" because you never know if they're genuine or if they're only interested in you because you've got money and connections and they want to take advantage of it. Still, I don't know that "must be rich themselves" should be a quantifier for any relationship like it clearly is for Kanye.
If you missed his interview with Zane Lowe on Radio 1, which was bro...
I know Little Mix are a bit for the teeny crowd, but I really love them, and I have ever since they were four random ass girls thrown together on The X Factor UK a couple of years ago. They've found quite a bit of success both back in the UK and even here in the States, and I'm really happy for them, especially since 1/2 the band are Geordies (big up to the North East) and they're all really nice. Plus, their songs are catchy! And fine, if you need more context, one of them is engaged to Zayn ...
I'm not exactly sure when Kanye West's break from reality took place, but he is so far off the deep end now that I'm not sure if there's any way to bring him back. Today's case in point: during a sit-down interview with BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe, Kanye proclaimed that he's the "number one rockstar on the planet" - and he meant it. He was literally 100% serious. He also insisted that Yeezus, his most recent album, "could be considered perfect". I mean, look bro, it's an alright album - good, even... but ...
There's been a lot of talk about Ariana Grande as of late, and admittedly I don't really "get it" because I don't know who she is. But, in the spirit of journalistic integrity, I've just Googled her and discovered that she's a 20-year-old Nickelodeon star that now has an album out with a hit single. I've just put said "hit single" - called 'The Way' on on YouTube and it's... not awful. Mac Miller is in the video, though, and that IS awful. Drop him, Ariana.
Anyway, this is all to say that Aria...
If you're not from the UK, you may not have heard of Jools Holland or his amazing music show called, aptly enough, Later... with Jools Holland. Basically, all the best musicians flock to him (sometimes before they're super famous) to perform and it's always great. Obviously there's more to it than that, but I'm trying to skip to the good stuff here. Kanye West turned up on the show this week to perform 'Bound 2' live for the first time. It's not necessarily his most commercial song, but it has...
Katy Perry has been through some bullshit since her Teenage Dream days, including her marriage to & divorce from Russell Brand and willingly dating John Mayer. That alone is enough to send anyone off the deep end, but considering the great pop music that is 'Roar'that came out of it, I suppose it's worth it.
From Scott Mills' Radio 1 show:
"I wrote it because I was sick of keeping all these feelings inside and not speaking up for myself, which caused a lot of resentment.
"Obviously I've been through a lot of therapy since my last record and that's what this is about."
I know there's been a lot of crap said about how 'Roar' is a lot like Sara Bareilles' 'Brave' (which I just don't hear, but maybe that's just me?) and then Dillon Francis tried to say she copied off him with the lyric video or whatever, but all of that is stupid and the song is great and that's all there is to it. I can't wait for Prism and I don't care who knows it. Haters to the left, or whatever the kids say.
