A New York state college said an inventory of its library's archival collections led to an unusual discovery -- a lock of George Washington's hair.
Union College said archivists going through materials at Schaffer Library discovered the first U.S. president's hair in an envelope tucked inside a leather book titled Gaines Universal Register or American and British Kalendar for the year 1793.
The envelope was labeled: "Washington's hair, L.S.S. & (scratched out) GBS from James A. Hamilton given him by his mother, Aug. 10, 1871."
James A. Hamilton was the son of Alexander Hamilton and his wife, Eliza Schuyler Hamilton. The book was inscribed to Philip J. Schuyler, brother of Eliza and son of Gen. Philip Schuyler, a friend of Washington's.
"In an era when people frequently exchanged hair as a keepsake, it's quite probable that Martha had given Eliza some of George's hair, which in turn was given to their son, James, who later distributed it, strand by strand, as a precious memento to close friends and family members," said Susan Holloway Scott, a scholar and author of the historical novel I, Eliza Hamilton.

The “Trainwreck” star secretly tied the knot with chef boyfriend Chris Fischer this week, she later confirmed on Instagram. Their surprise ceremony came shortly after Schumer, 36, made her relationship Instagram official, posting a PDA-filled picture from Ellen DeGeneres’ 60th birthday party.
On Thursday, Schumer shared photos of the wedding on social media. In one photo, Fischer appears to be partaking in the Jewish tradition of smashing a glass at the end of the ceremony (Schumer was raised Jewish).
According to sources, Schumer and Fischer rented a private home in Malibu to say their vows in front of about 80 people, including Jennifer Aniston, Jake Gyllenhaal, Jennifer Lawrence, Larry David, Judd Apatow, Chelsea Handler and David Spade.

I realize his wife, designer Georgina Chapman, likely did all the decor and reno choices herself, it still pains me to know Harvey Weinsteins little get away cottage is so gorgeous.
According to Variety, the home was occupied by Weinsteins oldest daughter, Remy, until recently.
Just shy of 1,400 sq ft the cottage with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, has undergone a sophisticated make over and reconfiguration that thoughtfully considers the home’s original character renting for $7,495/mo.

Actor Luke Wilson is being hailed for his heroics in a moment of terror after he was involved in a fatal crash with a Ferrari in Los Angeles Tuesday night.
As soon as the Ferrari came to a stop, Wilson sprung into action to save an unidentified 50-year-old woman who was trapped in her SUV, which had flipped during the crash.
