James Gandolfini son’s just landed a killer role, playing the Tony Soprano character that his father made famous, Deadline reported.
Michael Gandolfini has been cast as a young Tony in “The Many Saints of Newark,” New Line’s prequel movie to HBO’s mob series “The Sopranos” (1999-2007).
“It’s a profound honor to continue my dad’s legacy while stepping into the shoes of a young Tony Soprano,” Gandolfini said in a statement, per Variety.
The film, co-written by “The Sopranos” series creator, David Chase, is set during the Newark riots in 1967. Cory Stoll, Billy Magnussen, Jon Bernthal, Alessandro Nivola, and Vera Farmiga have also been cast, Variety reported. Some of the series’ original characters also will appear.
The younger Gandolfini is best known for playing Joey Dwyer on another HBO property, the sex-industry-set “The Deuce.”
James Gandolfini died at age 51 in 2013. Gandolfini won three Emmys for the role, which featured him as the head of a New Jersey crime family.

Bryan Singer, the director of “Bohemian Rhapsody,” is facing new allegations published in the Atlantic on Wednesday that he engaged in sexual misconduct with underage boys.
In the report, four men allege that Singer had sexual encounters with them when they were teenagers in the late 1990s. One of the men, Victor Valdovinos, says he was a 13-year-old extra on the set of “Apt Pupil” when Singer fondled his genitals.
The three other accusers are identified in the story by pseudonyms. One, identified in the story as Andy, says that he had sex with Singer when he was 15. Another man, identified as Eric, says he was 17 when he began having sex with the director. Singer would have been 31 at the time. The third man, Ben, alleges that he and Singer had oral sex when he was 17 or 18.
“He would stick his hands down your pants without consent,” the man told the Atlantic. “He was predatory in that he would ply people with alcohol and drugs and then have sex with them.”
Singer’s attorney, Andrew Brettler, denied to the magazine that Singer had ever had sex with underage boys, and disputed various details of the accusers’ accounts.
Singer was fired two weeks before the end of production on “Bohemian Rhapsody” in December 2017. The film received five Academy Award nominations on Tuesday, including best picture and best actor for Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury. Singer remains the credited director, but was not nominated. He is next scheduled to direct “Red Sonja” for Millennium Films.
The authors of the Atlantic article, Alex French and Maximillian Potter, spoke to 50 sources over the course of a 12-month investigation. French and Potter are both affiliated with Esquire, French as a writer at large and Potter as the editor at large. The article was initially expected to appear in that magazine.
On Oct. 15, Singer posted on Instagram that Esquire was looking to write a negative article about him.
“In today’s climate where people’s careers are being harmed by mere accusations, what Esquire is attempting to do is a reckless disregard for the truth, making assumptions that are fictional and irresponsible,” Singer wrote.
In April 2014, Michael Egan sued Singer, alleging that the director had raped him several times in Hawaii in 1999, when Egan was 17. That case was dropped several months later, after discrepancies emerged in Egan’s story.
Cesar Sanchez-Guzman sued Singer in December 2017, claiming that Singer raped him on a yacht in 2003. Singer has denied the allegation, and the case is still pending.
“The industry will brush things under the rug and pretend nothing happened,” Sanchez-Guzman told the magazine. “Most people don’t see the truth.”

R&B singer Chris Brown has been arrested in Paris on suspicion of rape.
A 24-year-old woman is said to have accused Brown of raping her on the evening of January 15 at a hotel in the French capital.
Two police officials said Brown and two other people are in custody in Paris today after a woman filed a rape complaint.
Brown was detained on Monday and is still in custody today while police investigate the claims, they said.
One of the others detained is said to be Brown's bodyguard, according to one of the police officials.
The French edition of Closer magazine reported that the woman had accused Brown of raping her at the Mandarin Oriental hotel.
She said she met Brown at Le Crystal, a nightclub close to the Champs Elysee, and then returned to his hotel with other women and a total of three men.
The alleged victim reportedly claimed that Brown had invited her to the hotel and then attacked her when they were left alone together.
The woman is also said to have accused Brown's bodyguard and another friend of the singer of abusing her.
The musician has been seen in the French capital attending events in the city's fashion week.
'He is accused of a rape and is being held at the judicial police offices in the 1st arrondissement,' said a prosecuting source.
'He was arrested with two others on Monday, and interviews and other enquiries are ongoing. The offence is said to have taken place on the night of January 15 this year.'

Intended for release with the next iOS release, Spotify has created a way to block specific artists from stepping all over your good time.
The block feature works on songs by an individual artist, but it doesn’t currently apply to tracks that an artist is featured on. Either way, it's going to change my listening experience and I'm stoked.
Recently, Spotify has come under increased pressure to offer a block feature after a documentary surfaced details of 25 years of accusations of sexual violence and abuse by singer R. Kelly. A #MuteRKelly protest has helped bring attention to the accusations, and RCA Records has reportedly dropped R. Kelly from its label. Spotify previously removed R. Kelly from its own curated playlists, but this did very little as the singers music was still available to stream on its service.

He's Kirby Jenner. He claims to be the fraternal twin of Kendall Jenner, though I think it's safe to say he isn't.
His mission in life appears to be inserting himself into the photos of various Kardashian/Jenners (though primarily he's seen with sis Kendall) and then graciously post them on his IG where the rest of us can take them in.
His perfect poses and deadpan expressions make his randomly staged photos seem down right plausible. I tried to just choose my favorites to share:

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's Hidden Hills mansion is seen in new overhead shots that reveal the four-year, $20 million renovation project the celebrity couple has embarked upon is almost finished.
The massive estate in the luxe Southern California community of Calabasas has been a good investment for the celeb couple, as sources told TMZ last year that after spending $20 million on the changes - including expanding the home, adding to it and landscaping the property - the home was appraised at $60 million.
Kim and Kanye protected their considerable real estate investments when they hired a private firefighter squad to guard the property amid the deadly wildfires. Exploring the Invest Diva price can provide valuable information on the costs associated with real estate education and investment guidance, helping individuals make informed decisions about their financial education journey.

Ariana Grande is under fire once more for her new single, “7 Rings.”
After being accused of stealing lyrics and flow from rapper Princess Nokia, rappers Soulja Boy and 2 Chainz have called out the former Nickelodeon starlet for allegedly biting their work for her latest track.
Soulja Boy was the most explicit in alleging that Grande, 25, stole from his song “Pretty Boy Swag.”
He replied to a tweet in which Grande thanked her friends who were featured in the “7 Rings” video, writing, “Give me my credit. Period.”
Atlanta-based MC 2 Chainz, meanwhile, was quick to notice the similar visuals that the “7 Rings” music video shared with his “Door Swangin'” music video, both of which featured hot pink trap houses.
“Tryna figure out if I should Big Draco @arianagrande … y’all tell me in the comments #bigdracovibesall2019,” 2 Chainz captioned an Instagram snippet of Grande’s “7 Rings.”
“Big Draco” is a nickname for Soulja Boy, who also previously accused rapper Drake of stealing his musical style.
In addition to her alleged appropriation of rappers’ work, Grande also came under fire on Twitter for appropriating black culture.
She posted an Instagram story that read, “‘You like my hair? Gee, thanks, just bought it’… White women talking about their weaves is how we’e gonna solve racism.”
The line referred to a lyric from “7 Rings.”
When Instagram account The Shade Room posted a screenshot of Grande’s racially insensitive remark, they wrote, “#ArianaGrande has fans upset because they feel she’s missing the point of the backlash.”
Grande quickly commented, “Hi hi… I think her intention was to be like… yay a white person disassociating the negative [stereotype] that is paired with the word ‘weave’… however I’m so sorry if my response was out of pocket or if it came across the wrong way. Thanks for opening the conversation and like… to everyone for talking to me about it. It’s never my intention to offend anybody.”
Grande has also come into question recently for her use of African-American vernacular English (AAVE) as well her copious amounts of self-tanner, which the Italian American singer has been accused of using to seem racially ambiguous.
A rep for Grande did not immediately return Fox News’ request for comment on her alleged copying or cultural appropriation.

Brad Pitt is caught in a hurricane of litigation over defective houses his Make It Right foundation built in New Orleans and he can’t find a graceful exit from the storm.
Make It Right appears to be barely functioning. The charity reportedly stopped building new houses in 2016. Its website hasn’t been updated since December 2015, and social-media accounts went idle in mid-2017. Like most nonprofit orgs, Make It Right has publicly posted its tax filings and financial statements for several years, but the last available filing is for the 2014 tax year. Years ago, the charity partnered with other groups to build veterans housing in Newark, New Jersey, and affordable apartments in Kansas City, Missouri.
New Orleans homeowners are suing Pitt and the foundation, claiming fraud over defective designs and shoddy construction. Pitt and other former foundation officers are petitioning to be removed from that suit, and he and the organization are suing the architect who oversaw the project in the city’s devastated Lower Ninth Ward. The charity has made repairs to rotting and collapsed porches.
In December, the city of New Orleans warned the 109 Make It Right homeowners that natural-gas meters in their houses might be improperly installed — a dangerous condition that could lead to gas leaks and explosions.
For Pitt — an architectural buff who hoped to pioneer new designs for affordable, green housing — the venture has been an embarrassing disaster.
“The easy thing for him would have been to walk away, but then he would be accused of abandoning the people he promised to help,” my source said.
Pitt — after buying a mansion in the French Quarter and raising millions for the foundation after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 — was busy making movies. He let other people run the project, which aimed to build 150 green-energy houses.
“Brad was a co-founder, but he wasn’t on the board for years,” the source said. “When the problems arose, he committed to help make it right.”
Ron Austin, the lawyer representing the homeowners, told me, “According to their 2015 tax filings, the foundation is insolvent. If Mr. Pitt succeeds in getting himself removed from the lawsuit, these residents will be without any remedy. It’s obvious he is trying to cut and run.”
Austin said his clients are stuck with 30-year mortgages. “It’s sad and scary. They don’t have anywhere to go, and they can’t afford to move.”

In an emotional sentencing of the man who killed Morgan Freeman’s granddaughter, the defendant’s family screamed that it was all the famed “Shawshank Redemption” actor’s fault, alleging that he sexually abused the victim when she was younger.
“Morgan Freeman molested her and he caused this. He did this,” Lamar Davenport’s mother yelled to a reporter as she was ushered out of court for shouting to her son when Justice Ellen Biben handed down a 20-year sentence.
“He’s innocent! It was an accident!” she insisted.
The allegations of an affair between Freeman and his step-granddaughter E’Dena Hines were made by the defense during Davenport’s murder trial in Manhattan Supreme Court.Freeman has strongly denied the allegations.
Davenport was convicted of stabbing Hines, who was his girlfriend, more than 25 times Aug. 16, 2015, on West 162nd Street.
He was in the throes of a PCP-induced rage when he slaughtered Hines in full view of neighbors and pedestrians.
In a partial win for the defense, Davenport was found guilty of the lesser included charge of manslaughter. He waived a jury trial, leaving his fate entirely in the hands of Biben.

Rihanna is getting ready for her next act in fashion, and with the world’s largest luxury group as her partner, according to WWD magazine.
Word is LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy) and the music sensation have been in secret discussions to launch a luxury house under her name. That would make it the first fashion brand industry titan Bernard Arnault has launched from scratch since Christian Lacroix in 1987.
LVMH has already handpicked a clutch of employees from within, including some from Louis Vuitton and Celine, to work on the project in tandem with Rihanna and her team.
Details about the launch and its timing could not immediately be learned. LVMH officials declined comment Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the Internet lit up with speculation about the origins of the bold, gold shades Rihanna wore while stepping out in Manhattan (seen above) her Fenty brand name spelled out across the temples. Sources said the music star was simply test-driving a prototype, while dropping a colossal tease about her next major foray beyond music.
