Shecky Greene was a comedian at the near birth of stand up. As iconic as he was, all I know about him is he was the punch line for so many dads I knew as a kid. As in, "We've got a regular Shecky Greene here!".
Shecky was a Las Vegas act since the 50's and claimed he was making $150,000 a week ($800,000 in today’s currency) performing. (The majority of that money, he claimed, was frittered away on gambling and horse racing.)
One of Greene’s classic bits centered around his love-hate relationship with Frank Sinatra, who he once opened for in Miami Beach. “Frank Sinatra saved my life,” Greene would say, adding that Sinatra had his henchmen rough him up following a joke that offended the singer. “Five guys were beating me up and Frank said, ‘Okay, he’s had enough.’”
The story became part of Hollywood lore:

Back in 2010, just a few years after Kelly Pickler took 6th place on American Idol, she bought this charming Tudor home in Nashville for $1,435,000. She shared the home with her husband Jacob, who sadly passed away in February of this year and now she's looking to sell for $2,890,000.
The four-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom home was custom built in 2008 by Rogan Allen Builders. Located in the center of the Green Hills neighborhood, this Tennessee Tudor is just a 15-minute drive from downtown Nashville. It’s an ideal address if you crave privacy but still want to be close to it all.

If you are too young to remember the Smothers Brothers, you may not know the significance of one of them passing. They were a genuinely clean and funny pair of comedians and actors who we loved in the 20th century.
Tommy Smothers who, along with his brother Dick, formed a groundbreaking comedy duo that made people laugh for six decades, died Tuesday at age 86.
His family released a statement, which was shared by the National Comedy Center, about his death at home following cancer treatment.
His brother Dick Smothers said, “Tom was not only the loving older brother that everyone would want in their life, he was a one-of-a-kind creative partner. I am forever grateful to have spent a lifetime together with him, on and off stage, for over 60 years. Our relationship was like a good marriage – the longer we were together, the more we loved and respected one another. We were truly blessed.”

John Schneider, the actor best known as Bo Duke on the Dukes of Hazzard, might want to leave the porch light on for Secret Service police. I expect they'll be by his house shortly.
That's because John took to Twitter last night to advise President Biden that he wants him dead.
The since-deleted post was in response to Biden’s tweet about former President Donald Trump, in which he wrote, “Trump poses many threats to our country: The right to choose, civil rights, voting rights, and America’s standing in the world. But the greatest threat he poses is to our democracy. If we lose that, we lose everything.”
Read it for yourself:

Celine Dion's sister Claudette is sharing an update on Celine's ongoing battle with a neurological disorder called stiff person syndrome. And the news is sounding grim.
"She's working hard," the 75-year-old said of her younger sister, 55. "What breaks my heart is that she's always been disciplined...She's always worked hard. Our mother always told her, 'You're going to do it well, you're going to do it properly.'"
Dion told the world about her condition back in 2022, telling fans she was diagnosed with a "very rare" neurological disorder.
"I wasn't ready to say anything before, but I'm ready now," she noted in an Instagram video. "I've been dealing with problems with my health for a long time, and it's been really difficult for me to face these challenges and to talk about everything that I've been going through."
She further shared, "Unfortunately, the spasms affect every aspect of my daily life."
Dion highlighted that the disorder had caused "difficulties," including in her walking and singing. "It hurts me to tell you today, this means, that I won't be ready to restart my tour in Europe in February," she relayed. "I'm working hard with my sports medicine therapist every day to build back my strength and my ability to perform again. But I have to admit, it's been a struggle."
The Grammy winner has leaned on her children—sons René-Charles, 22, and 13-year-old twins Eddy and Nelson—during this trying time.

Comedian Whitney Cummings has welcomed a new life into the world! The funny lady hit instagram to show herself, (barely), breastfeeding her newbie.
Whitney didn't share a name, but back in June when she announced her pregnancy she said it was a boy saying, “My favorite pic of my babies face so far. This just in: it’s a BOY. Help me name this monster. Rusty? Dusty? Bill?”.
However, she does share a note suggesting she already feels the instant bond of motherhood. "3-D printed a human," she quipped in her caption. "Enjoy me never having brushed hair again."

Considering he dropped $8,600,000 on this 3,000 square foot multi-level condo in Brooklyn, Kendrick Lamar has a lot of remodeling to do.
The home is currently set up as a 4 bedroom 3.5 bath home with a tight kitchen and no real layout. But there's tons of promise in these walls and there are decks and views galore.
We can only hope Kendrick lets Architectural Digest photograph the place after he blasts out the walls and puts his own touch on it.

Netflix seems to always have a handful of shows and docs each year that keep fans mesmerized, but I came up pretty short when I was asked to name a few.
Back in 2021 Netflix began their "What We Watched" list to highlight the most popular shows consumers checked out over six month period. In total, this report covers more than 18,000 titles — representing 99% of all viewing on Netflix — and nearly 100 billion hours viewed.
