We all know Taylor Swift likes to act the part of the high and mighty, and has made seemingly endless comments/bullshit speeches about what a feminist she is, despite all evidence to the contrary. It's no surprise, then, that she got called out on Twitter over the weekend for not speaking out in support of Kesha during her terrible ordeal at the hands of Sony Music and Dr. Luke. Instead, she took to Twitter to promote her new single and stayed mum on Kesha's very real problem even while plenty of other celebs were happy to chime in... that is, until today.
Taylor doesn't give a rat's ass about real feminism if it doesn't benefit her, so she did what anyone would do: threw $250,000 Kesha's way as a form of support during her "trying time." Taylor hopes that the cash will help Kesha pay her legal fees and help meet her other "financial needs" for a while. This, according to Taylor's reps, though the artist herself has still said absolutely nothing about the situation.
"In a show of support, Taylor Swift has donated $250,000 to Kesha to help with any of her financial needs during this trying time," a spokesperson for Swift wrote in a statement.
If there's one thing we've all learned, it's that all problems on this planet can be solved by throwing money at it. Now Taylor probably thinks she's beyond reproach in this situation, but it actually only serves to make her look even shittier and out of touch.
This whole story just reeks of ick factor and makes me dislike Taylor even more. />

Gwyneth Paltrow's 11-year-old daughter Apple might not even have reached her teenage years just yet, but that doesn't mean she's not living like she's a 40-year-old woman. That's right — when Mommy Goop goes for expensive facials with Hollywood skincare expert Sonya Dakar, Apple's right there beside her, getting her luxury on and loving every second of it. It doesn't matter that she's a literal child whose skin has no use for crazy treatments — it's totally fun and they're rich, so why not?

There's been a whole lot of talk going on in the music industry (and beyond, obviously) following Kesha's terrible legal outcome in court on Friday, in which she failed to gain freedom from Sony Music and her alleged rapist, Dr. Luke. Many celebrities have come out in support of the #freekesha campaign, but there are also plenty of others — many of whom have proclaimed to be feminists when it was advantageous for them to use the label — who have remained silent. Taylor Swift is just one of them; Katy Perry is another, but there are many more, too. And Demi Lovato is not here for the bullshit.
Posting on her Twitter page early Sunday morning, Demi took us all to church as she spoke out on the importance of women stepping out of their comfort zones in support of other women instead of just pretending they're all pro-female when it helps their careers. Tell 'em, Demi!
Frustrating to see women come forward with their past only to be shot down, not believed & disrespected for their bravery in taking action
Demi knows what's up. The one downside to this whole thing is that it seems to be becoming a bit of a competition between female popstars on who can be the most vocal and shade the non-vocal ones for not speaking up. I do think bullshit like that needs to be called out, but we run the risk of this turning into a girl fight rather than being about not only protecting an artist and a woman from her abuser and protecting her freedom of creativity, but also taking attention away from the real pieces of shit here, Sony and Dr. Luke. And I'm not here for that.

It's good to see celebrities coming together for important causes and using their star power to really support those in need. That's certainly what Kathryn Hahn, Mila Kunis, and Kristen Bell did this week when the ladies — who are working together on a movie called Bad Moms — came together to hold a vigil for Kanye West, who's clearly in the midst of some pretty hard times. Kristen posted the photo to her Twitter page last weekend (yes, we were sleeping on it!) with the hashtag #prayforkanye. Yes,...
You guys, my girl Kesha is facing some hard times right now. After filing a lawsuit against product Dr. Luke for sexual, emotional, and mental abuse during their years of working together, she also filed a suit against her label, Sony, begging for release from her recording contract so she can get back to making music freely. On Friday morning, she faced a Los Angeles judge to have the case heard, and unfortunately, the outcome did not work out in her favor. Kesha was denied release from her Sony contract and basically told to just buck up and get on with things. Ain't that some serious bullshit?
From TMZ:
She had sought an injunction allowing her to make an album outside of Sony, but the judge shot that down Friday morning ... saying she can work with a different producer under the Sony umbrella.
Kesha's attorneys say they're worried Sony will blackball her if she refuses to work with Luke.
To be honest, I think that's exactly what's going to happen. Kesha will try to work with another producer, the label will claim that the songs aren't hit material and refuse to release the album, and she'll be perpetually unable to complete the terms of her contract and therefore unable to release new music. What a shitty ass situation. Glad to see, yet again, that corporations matter more than individuals even in the entertainment business!
Dr. Luke wasn't in the courtroom, and there has been no answer to his lawsuit thus far (his counter-suit for defamation against her was thankfully thrown out by a judge with some common fucking sense), but needless to say, this is a really shitty situation for Kesha. Let's hope her lawyers manage to find a way for her to get out of this so she can get back to building her career.
For the record, this isn't a final verdict just yet, but it's not looking good for her.
#Kesha sitting in the back of the courtroom, sobbing. Her mom is by her side.

Admittedly, I'm actually pretty upset that Rihanna doesn't seem to have her shit together lately. I bought tickets to see her and The Weeknd on the Anti tour in England this summer, and I woke up this morning to an email telling me that the date had been cancelled, and that if I still wanted to see her, I could rebook my tickets by choosing from what's left at a few other dates in London and Coventry (i.e. nosebleeds that aren't even worth looking at) or I could get a refund. The reason given for the cancellation was "logistical difficulties beyond the tour's control" (that's verbatim from the email I received). Turns out, it wasn't just my show — the whole tour has been pushed back and messed up because of "production delays", which I'm pretty sure translates to "Rihanna can't get her shit together."
Here's the general rundown:
Tour was due to start February 26 in San Diego; will now start March 12 in Jacksonville, Florida
14 dates have been postponed
Several dates have been downgraded from stadiums to arenas due to poor ticket sales
The Weeknd has dropped out of the UK leg of the tour (which he was due to support)
Two UK dates have been cancelled altogether
What's fucked up is that Sunderland's Stadium of Light (where I was due to see Rihanna) is actually bragging about the fact that Beyonce is coming there still a week after Rihanna was due to perform. In other words, Rihanna's star might be very subtly waning.
It's a shame, really. I know Anti wasn't everyone's favorite, but it's actually her best album, I think — more mature, more moody, slightly less accessible/not full of radio hits but really interesting sounds. It's just becoming clear to me, especially after the carry on at the Grammys last weekend, that Rihanna is smoking too damn much and needs to get her act together. Don't self-destruct, girl.

If there's one thing that's pretty clear by now, it's that Kanye West is pretty unwell. While it's been fun and games to laugh at his ridiculous rants and talk shit about him for being an asshole (because he is indeed an asshole, mental illness aside), it's likely he's suffering from some serious mental health issues that need to be addressed, hopefully sooner rather than later. He's been on a continuous decline, culminating with that leaked SNL rant in which he started randomly naming Apostle Paul and Stanley Kubrick and basically just talking complete and utter nonsense. It's worrying, and no one's more stressed about this whole thing than Kris Jenner, who's terrified that the Kardashian brand will suffer because Kim's married to a madman.
From Page Six:
West’s team met with a host of top publicists within the last few months — but nobody is brave enough to work with him. A source said, “His Twitter rants are out of control, and Kris fears that he’s taking the family down. Kris wants Kanye to hire someone to handle all the noise and drama so he can focus on being an artist.” But the response from the p.r. world was deafeningly silent.
One top publicist who was approached told us, “You couldn’t pay us enough to represent Kanye. He’s too much to handle.”
I mean, I definitely think he's damaging to his OWN brand, let alone the Kardashians, but isn't the bigger issue that the guy is going off the deep end and needs some serious professional help? Isn't that kind of the priority here? I know the Kardashian family isn't necessarily full of thinkers, but come on now. />

Katy Perry is a friend of several of my frenemies, and y'all know I love her music, but you should also know that I don't for one second think she's some sweet, kind, personable angel who anyone would be lucky to know. I can totally see her being petty, immature, and a bit mean. She hasn't got to where she is because she doesn't know how to slice and dice the competition out of her way. Well, apparently she picked the wrong person to bully this time, because singer-songwriter Ryn Weaver spoke out on Twitter about her experience with the real life Regina George, proving she is NOT THE ONE.
If you're saying to yourself, "Ryn Weaver who?", you're not wrong, but you're also not right, because she's actually doing her thing in the industry and is considered an "up and comer" — she co-wrote one of JoJo's new songs, plus two songs on Gwen Stefani's new album, and she also has a single called "OctaHate" which, to be fair, I haven't listened to. Anyway, she since deleted all her tweets, but the Internet never forgets, and she ain't getting away with it that easy.
"She came up to me and my friends.. Knowing I played.. After we were friends.. Then stared at me the whole time she spoke to my friend waiting for me to speak... Anytime I spoke she started turning her head around pretending she heard something... Then said "dos u hear something?" While staring at me.. Anytime I spoke.. After we were already friends.. Did this the entire night... Then came w us to drake and stared at me the WHOLE SHOW.. Then any time I caught her eye out of my periphery she proceeded to alert her entire posse saying " that ryn weaver girl is soooo obsessed with me" loud enough for my entire group of friends to hear... While talking why the WHOLE NIGHT loud enough for me to hear.. After pretending I didn't even exist."
This all started because Ryn called Katy out for being a paid shill for Hillary Clinton (which, let's be real, it's a fair assessment), but the Katy Cats were NOT happy with this and quickly descended:
Frankly, I'm kinda glad Ryn dragged Katy. I like Katy as an entertainer, as I said, and I love when Katy drags other stars, but let's not pretend she's not playing the same games Taylor Swift is, to a certain degree...
What do you think? Has Ryn hit the self-destruct button on her career before it really took off? Will Katy clap back? />

After Kanye West revealed that he's $53 million in debt earlier this week and started begging Mark Zuckerberg for money on Twitter, everyone was all kind of like, "??????" because seriously, he has tons of money. But that's his money — he'd rather spend everyone else's and go around like a beggar instead of supporting is self-proclaimed genius visions. But whatever! Kim Kardashian, despite being his wife, is glad she doesn't have to depend on her husband's financial situation. She's got her own kash, thanks very much.
"Their finances are separate, but they don't keep secrets from each other, and when it comes to things for the kids, the house they're working on, they share expenses," a source tells PEOPLE in this week's issue.
"She feels good that she has her own money if things ever go south, but of course it stresses her out a little that they even have to think about finances at all," says the source.
Yeah, it's good that she's got her own money so that when they divorce, which they inevitably will, especially if the last final shreds of Kanye's sanity disappear (something that seems almost a guarantee at this point), she'll still be cool. I actually wonder how much they're involved in each other's business deals, and whether Kris Jenner is smart enough to keep most of Kim's hidden so that Kanye doesn't bully them into investing in his garbage.
Either way, this might be the smartest move Kim has ever made, to be honest. Not that that's saying much, but you know. />

There hasn't been much chatter about Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris lately, has there? Ever since he got caught going to that Thai massage parlour in LA, they were rumored to have broken up, or at least seriously grown apart. That doesn't really seem to be the case, though, if Calvin's Snapchat is anything to go by. Following Taylor's 'Album of the Year' win at the Grammys, he posted a pic of her kissing his cheek at the Republic Records' afterparty at Hyde Sunset Kitchen + Cocktails.

I'm a little flummoxed by Britney Spears in general. Just, like, as a human being. She seems to function on stage sort of on autopilot, having been pushed into the spotlight since she was a child, and she manages to dance around and lip sync with the best of them. You could say she's a master at it — and she's raking in the cash at her Las Vegas residency to prove it. But beyond that, she seems to lack any personality or common sense, so it's nearly impossible for me to imagine her interacting with anyone on a personal level in any deep and meaningful way, particularly a romantic partner (hence the reason none of her relationships have lasted).
Nevertheless, she's single and ready to mingle, and as per what she told her Planet Hollywood crowd on Valentine's Day, she wants a "hot nerd" with a "big penis". Because that sounds like something a human and not a robot pre-programmed for banter would say!
I mean, bless them for trying to keep Britney going. I shudder to think how many drugs and god knows what else they've pumped her up with to keep making money off of her, but here we are nevertheless. This video just totally weirds me out and makes me feel confused and dirty (in all the wrong ways). />

Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama have been together for about 800 years, but they still haven't gotten any closer to tying the knot. While I actually think this is pretty smart of them both — Hollywood relationships rarely last, and they gotta protect their money because neither of them are life-long millionaires unless they play it super safe — people are nuts about these two getting engaged. Valentine's Day was rife for the rumor mill, especially since Demi Instagrammed a pic of her wearing a ring. Never mind that it wasn't even on the right hand and she expressly said in the caption that she's not engaged. Reading skills not required to use Instagram, obviously.
Frankly, I think they should just stay together for as long as it works and then leave it at that. They do seem well-matched, and in Hollywood terms, they've been together FOREVER, so they're doing pretty well. But cool it with the engagement/marriage talk, people. Demi Lovato is a free butterfly and must be allowed to float freely around the world making us smile... or something. Whatever, just go with it. She's not getting engaged, and Wilmer doesn't seem to be in any hurry to pop the question anyway, so whatever!
