While performing at the Nashville Pride Festival on Saturday, Vanessa Carlton decided to tell her audience of around 18,000 a secret:
"I've never said this before, but I am a proud bisexual woman."
After that announcement and before "Ordinary Day," she said the song "could be about a boy, girl, tranny, whatever," then sang the song using female pronouns instead of the usual male ones.
I say good on you, Vanessa Carlton. In a culture where being bisexual is largely considered being indeci...
After her SCRAM bracelet went off at an afterparty for the MTV Movie Awards, Lindsay had to go to court to explain herself and take some urine tests and so on and so forth. Lindsay claimed that someone spilled a drink on her ankle (I was going to make fun of that, but then I remembered that I've definitely had the same thing happen to me and now it's not funny so much as it is sad). It turns out that she was telling the truth, because according to Lindsay's lawyer, her urine tests were neg...
His solo art show opens on June 23rd in New York, and there is no doubt in my mind that it will be a brilliant assault to the senses.
The show, titled "The Dangerous Book Four Boys," has a little bit of everything: there are sculptures, photographs, drawings, and video (including home videos of Franco as a child). Wall Street Journal got the chance to talk to Franco and the show's curator, Alanna Heiss, about the show's subject matter:
"The Dangerous Book Four Boys" addresses boyhood...
Cameron Diaz did an interview with Playboy, and so far it looks pretty spectacular. You'll have to wait until tomorrow to read the whole thing (pins and needles, I know), but here are a few of my favorite quotes from Playboy's website:
On sexuality and love: "Sexuality and love can be different things. I can be attracted to a woman sexually, but it doesn't mean I want to be in love with a woman. If I'm going to be with a woman sexually, it doesn't mean I'm a lesbian. We put these restraints and definitions on people, but it's...
After making an appearance on The Tonight Show with Robert Pattinson, Emma Roberts revealed that she's more of a Jacob supporter. Ballsy move, Emma Roberts, but the right one (while I am somewhat ashamed to admit I read all the Twilight books, Team Jacob is totally the right way to go. Have you seen Taylor Lautner? Even if you haven't, have seen Robert Pattinson? No, thank you). While Pattinson took the news well, his fans did not, and as all well-adjusted preteens do, they took to ...
Ok, to be fair, it was a concert featuring Hanson and Drake, so there were probably a few more people there to see Drake, but still, Hanson fans had to contribute at least a little bit. I know I'd get scrappy to have the chance to touch Taylor Hanson.
The concert was a free, outdoor deal in New York, and the trouble started when the venue attracted about 10,000 more people than expected. Tension increased when fans started realizing that Drake wouldn't start playing for a while (they'd...
TMZ had a chat with Bam about the whole assault by baseball bat thing, and he shed some light on what caused the incident. Apparently the woman who hit him "lives connected" to his bar, and this isn't the first time she's taken issue with him. As Bam says,
"She calls the police nonstop. She's punched me in the face, filed a police report. And then she's threatened to kill me twice, filed two police reports. She threatened to kill Missy, my wife, for no reason, and then she threatened t...
Last week, Katy Perry made a comment on Twitter about the classlessness of "using blasphemy as entertainment." Everyone thought that was a pointed comment to Lady Gaga's "Alejandro" video, which was released the day before. She was asked about her problems with Lady Gaga while promoting her new album, and she was quick to deny her comment had anything to do with Gaga, saying it was "more of a non-specific, general thing." Though she did admit that if the blasphemy comment was directed at ...
After being seemingly pregnant for years, Tiffani Thiessen's spawn decided to come out today. The baby, a girl named Harper Renn Smith, and Tiffani are doing well. No pictures yet though!
Good job on that name, Tiff. It sounds so classy, even though the name Harper always makes me think of my favorite pill-popping Mormon housewife. Angels in America, anyone?...
Lindsay Lohan's assistant quit last week, and her friends are worried that she will suffer a breakdown because of this. Her assistant's duties included things like keeping track of all of Lindsay's appointments (including those court appointments that are kind of important right now) and driving her around to things like her alcohol education classes and probably bars. Her friends say that the assistant was a "lifeline" for Lindsay, and now that's she's gone Lindsay is essentially helpless.
Her assistant quit after only working a few months b...

Yeah, remember the last time Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber hung out? The Biebz had to call his fans off because they are the most chemically imbalanced children in the world. Now the two have been spotted going on romantic strolls along the beach. It was for a photo shoot, but do you really think Bieber's fans will take it that way? Of course not, they will go back to making World War II references and idle threats.
And as if the beach spotting wasn't enough, ...
Here's a photo of Jessica Alba heading out to make an appearance in Jimmy Kimmel Live! She's wearing a gingham bustier, which blows my mind all by itself, and what looks like one-third of a more conventional shirt that happens to be covered in caterpillars. The skirt and shoes are fine, which is smart of her - you don't want to dress in head-to-toe preposterousness. That would just be decadent, now wouldn't it?...
