From comments on here, I can see that there are people who need a brain transplant running loose out there. Just because someone is found “not guilty” by a jury does NOT mean that they are innocent! All it means is that some attorney manipulated the system, or that the judge favored the defendant in his rulings and instructions to the jury, or that the jury was packed with a bunch of idiots who can’t think for themselves and exercise basic common sense – or a combination of those factors!
Once someone is arrested or tried (not just convicted) for murder, arrestee or defendant should NOT be allowed to profit from the crime committed by someone else. Allowing profit under those types of circumstances provides motivation for people to cause harm to others.
It’s easy to imagine a situation where person A conspires with person B for A to kill a victim and for B to take the fall, knowing full well that B is going to get off because there won’t be sufficient evidence to link B to the murder. Then all they have to do is wait until the offers of big bucks come in. Not a good thing to have happen. It must be foreseen and nipped in the bud by laws that prevent ANYONE arrested or tried of the crime, even if found “not guilty,” from profiting from the tragedy.
