While many of us are suffering from some serious anxiety over the upcoming last chapter in the Harry Potter experience, Harry himself is having a good ol’ time on Broadway in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. And just look at him strut his tiny little self around, having a grand old time – he’s come a long way from The Boy Who Lived, hasn’t he?
I’m not going to say that his performance looks spectacular, because it doesn’t. He’s no Terrence Mann (dear God, let one of you be nerd enough to get a Terrence Mann reference), but he’s pretty good. Daniel looks like he’s having fun, and he actually looks like a pretty decent dancer, which I don’t think any of us really got to see in Equus.
What do you guys think? Has Daniel Radcliffe found his calling in musical theatre, or does he need to keep on looking?
Terence Mann? He’s no Robert Morse (who originated the role) – or Matthew Broderick who was SO good in the revival. But he’s pretty cute and does look like he’s enjoying himself. And I think I see John Laroquette in there also!
Radcliffe went from nothing to basically learning how to act in GIANT Harry Potter which then swallowed up a good decade of his life with very little else in between those films for practice. If this is indicative of his average performance I would go watch it and not be disappointed. He does not suck.
It is SUCH a fun musical –
Look at him go! I can’t help loving the idea that this pocket-sized, mega star got up one day and dreamy eyed and thought “I wanna be on Broadway!” He looks like he’s having the time of his life up there. And if it gets 13 year old to see something other than Wicked, I’m all for it.
Terrence Mann: The Scarlet Pimpernell. SO GOOD. I will always be nerd enough to get a Terrence Mann reference. And D-Rad is no Terrence Mann, but he is precious!
