See that lady in the photo above? That’s Mary Perry Hudson (the older lady, not weird-looking Katy Perry – that picture was taken in 2008, but doesn’t she look way different?), and she’s got some words to say. Before we analyze anything, let’s just take a gander at Mom’s book proposal:
“Amid a torrent of negative reports from tabloid magazines and entertainment shows, Mary Hudson wants to tell ‘her story’ and dispel a lot of rumors. Katy’s success has impacted her ministry in both negative and positive ways. She loves her daughter very much and is very proud of her accomplishments, but disagrees with a lot of choices she makes in her career. This memoir is to set the record straight. It is not Christian proselytizing or a Katy Perry tell-all. It is the story of Mary Perry Hudson.”
I think they threw in that “it’s not Christian proselytizing or a Katy Perry tell-all” because it’s Christian proselytizing AND a Katy Perry tell-all. Because not trying to be rude or anything, but who would buy a book about some lady who just happened to be Katy Perry’s mom?
Based on Mrs. Mary Perry Hudson’s past statements, I would definitely be interested in reading this book. I would read all about Katy’s promotion of those damned homosexuals and how “I Kissed a Girl” hurt the Lord Jesus Christ’s feelings, and I would do so because I love absurdism. What about you?
Shame on you. If Katy Perry was Muslim, would you still be saying those things?
everyone’s always, always talking about how people should be more “open” or “tolerant” of different beliefs… so why do people have to make digs on Christianity? The people who say that stuff are big hypocrites and I am sure God doesn’t appreciate those same people making little comments like that. Go ahead, I know it’s coming. Some person is going to roll their eyes and say something about my comment. How about you people be a little more respectful towards Christians please.
First it was Miley Cyrus, then Katy and Rhianna. People are going to talk about how terrible it is that the parents turned on their children! how could they? We think of how terrible it is for the three pop stars. How they must feel! But if Miley, Katy, and Rhianna find their parents action upsetting and hurtfull, then they have a fraction of knowing how it feels when they turn their back on God, especially Katy, who claims to be a Christian. The mom has supported Katy in the past and allowed Katy’s actions to have a reflection on who she appears to be. Now if Mary Hudson is a preacher and has a belief based on biblical principles, I feel she needs to make statement that her daughter’s action and opinions do not represent her beliefs or what her ministry stands for. Or she should not preach. It was refreshing to see Billy Ray Cyrus putting God first. When a daugter is not acting appropriately or if she is rejecting God, you don’t want her to feel comfortable in doing so
exactly! I might not even read this site anymore because of that comment Emily made. Take the “Beet” out of the site name.
