Surprise! Lady Gaga Is Kind Of Crazy!

A photo of Lady Gaga at an LG Arena Concert

Lady Gaga has spent over $4,000 on ghost hunting equipment for her tour, and she has aides check her venues for any evil spirits before she performs.  She’s not a stranger to the supernatural – she’s said that the ghost of her aunt saved her life by helping her overcome her cocaine addiction.

I can’t really judge the whole ghost hunting thing.  I used to be on a paranormal investigation team (so nerdy and pretty lame, I know), and we used the EMF meters and we had video cameras, all that stuff.  We were like younger, poorer, more ridiculous Ghost Hunters. One time we spent the night in a cemetery and got some sweet pics of some orbs, and another time we went to a hotel/former Civil War hospital and got some videos of man-shaped apparitions.  I like to make fun of it, but we actually did see some strange things that we couldn’t really explain, so I feel like there’s something to the whole ghost conundrum. I guess it’s just that when that conundrum is placed alongside Lady Gaga’s other eccentricities, I get more of a “whoa, crazy bitch” vibe. Maybe that’s just me.

  • i really don’t see anything wrong with this.. growing up my mom would do all these hippie stuff to get rid of negative energy, so i really had to learn how to embrace other people’s beliefs and eccentricities. I think that when you believe something is real, it affects you, even if it doesn’t exist. So I guess she’s free to do whatever she wants to get rid of her ghosts and feel better!

  • It’s easy to non-believe until you’ve seen something off the wall that you cannot explain. I grew up hearing the stories of the house my familiy lived in that was haunted. It was so bad that my folks moved out for the sake of the kids. I don’t EVER want to see shit like that!

Hey, I gotta ask this and I’m gonna get slammed, I’m sure. This particular post isn’t too anti-Gaga but there have been plenty of that here. Granted, she may not be your cup of tea and, yeah, she is re-hashing what she probably believes is the best or most crazy stunts of other artists. By my standards she is a little girl and, damn, that kid has made a name for herself. I don’t see her getting much credit here for clawing her way to the top of a tough business – esp. for a female. For some reason I kinda felt this was a more…I dunno…feminist gossip site. Beet’s commentary on the Kendra sex tape kinda gave me chills. If Gaga is just being a crazy dame doing her crazy thing, don’t we women need to at least not pull her apart like lions attacking a gazelle?

    It’s a quiet Sunday afternoon and I’m just saying…..

    • Thanks, Tasha! After I hit “submit” I thought that maybe some would think I was diminishing Lada Gaga because I said she was a “little girl.” I want to make it clear that I did not mean that as an insult. I just mean I am an older chick and I remember what it was like to be Gaga’s age. I wasn’t doing crap with my life much less becoming a world wide superstar. I take my hat off to anybody who achieves such success and I especially am proud when young women do what we old women didn’t do!

  • I saw a ghost when I when was about 15. A little boy walked across my bedroom. He was wearing clothing from the 1800s. Maybe I was dreaming, as my parents insisted. It has stuck with me my whole life. And, because I have a tendency to be a paranoid freak, whenever I’m terrified that there is an other worldly presence in my presence, I say the Lord is my Sheppard prayer over and over. Yeah, I know, totally freaky. But, it does calm me down.

  • Wow at all the losers sharing their lame stories.

There’s no such thing as the supernatural, there is no god, no angels. Live in the real world, people.

And with a Gaga post after a Kesha post…ugh. Two attention whores who try to be “different”.

    • Maybe ghosts don’t like you! I never saw one either but who am I to judge those who are sure. I just know I don’t want to see the dead…I have enough trouble with the living.

    • By saying there is no God, you are acknowledging God. You = eternal damnation. LOL. Lake of fire, bitch. God burned you ass for the LULZ.

    • i agree with you, it’s just superstitions and imagination, by the way, for people who have said that they have seen something in cementeries or “auras” or whatever you do realize that those things are the gases that the bodies emanate from decomposition, they absorbe the light in the day and in night they are like flourescent or something… so you see EVERYTHING has an explanation even if the modern science can’t say what it its yet, just wait…

      • Beautifully said!

@evilbeetdouche. Not going to waste time writing a proper response to you. You waste so much time on this website. You must be so lonely. Good luck in life finding happiness :)

  • Hmmm… Gaga is all about fame. Leaking the word that she’s into ghost hunting gets her another mention in the media. A+B=Fuckingobvious.

At what point is simple self-promotion by a master self-promoter “crazy”?

  • I love how a) you provide no proof or source for her spending $4,000.00 on ghost shit, and b) YOU WERE ON A PARANORMAL INVESTIGATION TEAM and you’re still making fun…..how is she crazy and you aren’t? Because it’s coming from Lady Gaga it’s even weirder? That makes no sense – you should expect weird shit from her.

  • This is just religious paranoia and it’s stupid, pointless, and as you said, ridiculous. People who are looking for spirits will hear and see things because they’re looking to hear and see things. It’s called hallucinations.

We need to get rid of this crap in our world because it sets us back and it’s a total waste of time.

Lady Gaga having her people check for evil spirits isn’t surprising. Emily, I think you’re the real story of this post, coming out and saying this stuff that you did when you were younger was ridiculous. You got videos of man-shaped apparitions… You sure someone wasn’t playing a trick on you? Are you sure no one manipulated this video in some sort of way? Did you actually see anything with your own eyes? I seriously doubt it… Anyway if Gaga really is paranoid about this stuff, you’re saying she’s crazy but at the same time excusing her behavior. That’s pretty odd. What’s your real opinion about it now that you’re older? And what was your real motivation when you were on this paranormal investigation team?

    • I was about 16 and my best friend knew this guy that I kind of knew who was really into everything paranormal. He was trying to form some kind of investigation team, she joined, and I joined by default because sometimes my best friend and I are codependent like that. We saw a couple things on video – I had the camcorder and we went to a basement and there was this outline of a man just passing through, and when we were at the cemetery we saw these weird lights that we really couldn’t explain. Obviously there could be some simple explanation thing that we missed, but at the time, and even now, it was pretty spooky.

I was always just kind of into the whole ghost hunting things because my friends were. I think there could be ghosts and spirits and such, but I think it’s ridiculous to spend large sums of money on scientific equipment to find such things. There’s a difference between believing something and being fanatical about it, so that’s why I’m kind of on the fence about it.

      • Doesn’t Mena’s post above, about “the gases that the bodies emanate from decomposition” (which you could google to verify), make you facepalm a bit in retrospect? Or do you remain on the fence about the “weird lights” episode?

      • There was no decomposing body in the old farm house in a small town in the Midwest. It was before I was born & I pretty much think my siblings are crazy anyway. Mom’s gone now but I could say she was eccentric. It’s easy for me to dismiss what I did not see with my own eyes. But human kindness dictates that I not be a complete bitch. I believe they believe. I don’t think I need to go further than that.

  • What really gets to me, is that when something unexplained (ie. not understood yet) happens, people still jump to ONE conclusion – ghosts/spirits. There’s no “hmm, it could be this, or that, or a million other things I haven’t considered yet”, just “OMG it’s spirits, can’t be anything else!” and that’s where the “investigation” ends.

And the funniest thing? It’s the exact same conclusion our ancestors were jumping to 10 000 years ago… and to this day, people still believe that these ancestors, who would have peed themselves at the sight of a light bulb, knew more about the universe then, than we do now.

    Le sigh.

  • I promise you, you were only equally as ridiculous as Ghost Hunters.
I mean, at least you weren’t out there airing your belief in nonsense on national t.v., right?
