Okay, okay. This 3-year-old, Wesley Muresan, snowboards better than I do. Fortunately, I’m better at pronouncing the letter “r” than I expect he’ll ever be. Also, he pronounces “giant” with a hard “g”, which is totally inexplicable. It’s clear that his mother is way too busy selecting hip and rockin’ beats for his YouTube videos to read James and the Giant Peach to him.
He has a Facebook page, which I’m not going to link to, because, like, that’s ridiculous. But, if you like, you can jump in for more videos of him shrupping or gnawing or snorting rails or whatever it is you call doing things on a snowboard when you’re good at it.
His pronouncing his “S” like an “F” drives me nuts. “Fooperman”
Way to much time snowboarding, not enough time learning to speak properly. I know, I know, he’s only three.
It’s actually a little-known superhero, Fupaman. Saving the world from flat stomachs and skinny jeans.
This kid is totally awesome. Kudos to his parents for encouraging him to excel in outdoor sports.
In my opinion this’s far more important for child development than a lot of c*** they teach in preschool.
I wish my parents could take me skiing in this age… wait… they did, I sucked.
That kid needs a speech therapist. I hope that his parents are as concerned about his language skills and development as they are for his snowboarding.
Speech sounds aren’t fully developed until at least 5. By 5, kids should be able to make every sound correctly. My daughter has a speech therapist for her slight lisp. Speech problems are actually VERY easy to fix and most schools offer free therapy. Give the kid a few years before you knock his parents!
“Speech sounds aren’t fully developed until at least 5.”
Uh…perhaps if the kid is retarded.
No, actually it is true. Every elementary school teacher knows this. A speech therapist will not treat a preschooler because speech sounds do not fully develop until age 5. The R sound is the last to develop, actually.
TOO CUTE TOO CUTE!!!!!!
i know it’s probably awful but seeing this only makes me think of how loaded his parents must be to be able to let him do that to begin with.
I agree with Crunch – it’s awesome that his parents are encouraging him to explore his passion at such a young age. Some of my fondest memories of growing up are skiing with my dad. He taught me how and now that I’m an adult, skiing is one of the things I love to do the most. There isn’t a day that I’m out on the hills that I don’t think about my father and what he did for me by teaching me to ski and encouraging me to pursue what made me happy.
A 3 year old can snowboard. Big fucking deal. I suppose all is right with the world now.
Actually what he is doing isn’t very difficult. He’s going in a straight line. He isn’t big/heavy enough to do anything in the pipe. His being able to balance himself on the rail isn’t difficult because he is light and short. His center of gravity is only about a foot above his board. I’ll save my admiration until I see how he does at 13.
Hello,
I am Wesley’s mother. It’s good to know there are some of you in the world, including the writer of this blog, who get a kick out of laughing at the way a 3 year old speaks. Contrary to your assumption that Wesley’s mother is too busy to read to him, I actually homeschool both of my kids. They get to snowboard 3-4 times a week in the winter for physical education class. Since I spend 98% of my time taking care of and teaching my children, I don’t feel very bad that I spend a little time doing something that I like to do, which is mixing videos and choosing a “rockin’ beat” for them. Gosh, we mothers can never be perfect enough. If we work, we are not spending enough time with our kids. If we don’t work, we are lazy for not helping out financially, if our kids cannot speak perfectly at age 3, mom must be neglecting them, if we make a youtube video, we are terrible mothers for ignoring our child to make the video. Please find something better to do with your time than make incredibly unfounded assumptions about a child and his family.
Well, I was going to also reply, in defense of my nephew Wesley and his awesome parents, but my sister already said it all :-) Y’all should know better than to knock a 3 yr. old . . . seriously, the world could use a little more positive in general, why waste your time being otherwise?
