As I told you yesterday, Michael Jackson’s kids paid tribute to their father last night at the Grammys with a speech and then accepted his lifetime achievement award. Unfortunately, young Blanket became overwhelmed moments before he was supposed to go on stage, and he hung back while Prince Michael and Paris went out to accept the award.
There’s nothing to snark about here. Say whatever you will about Michael Jackson, those little munchkins up there were his kids. They’re children. And they are also incredibly brave. To stand in front of a room full of celebrities after living a fairly guarded life and losing everything you’ve ever known in one under a year… that’s quite courageous. Also, it was comforting. By all accounts these kids seem normal, smart, well-spoken and interesting. Paris Jackson is gorgeous. These seem like loved, well taken care of kids and I hope that they’re doing OK.
That was touching and brave, but how much were they really related/raised by Michael Jackson? Can you still call them his kids? If I was birthed because of money that someone gave, and then that person was rarely around to raise me, I’m not sure I would consider them a parent. It was really brave though.
I’m so proud for them. I’d love to accept an award for my dead father too, the one that molested all the neighborhood kids when they innocently came over to play with me. Hey, when they have awards for “Best Father to Fucking Burn In Hell”, let me know and I’ll be there. Heck, maybe even Michael’s adopted menagerie can join me.

My dad died Christmas week. I feel fine. I just have to clean up his paperwork and other horseshit. And he didn’t leave me millions of dollars. His “kids” are just fine I bet.
The only pain these kids are in is the mental pain and suffering they went through living with a fucking freak their entire lives and being surrounded by his crazy family and entourage. The memories they carry of Michael Jackson will be discussed in therapy for many years to come. Can’t wait for the book!!
