Vanessa Carlton Got Fired From Disney World For Swearing

Vanessa Carlton had a job up until today. That’s the good news. The bad news is that she is now unemployed like pretty much everyone else right now. No, she wasn’t laid off from her singing gig due to company downsizing. She dropped the f-bomb while performing during the EPCOT’s Food and Wine Festival ‘Beats and Eats’ Concert series. Yeesh. That’s gotta be rough.

Carlton slipped up during her first of three performances scheduled for today. Obviously she was warned by Disney brass to watch her mouth because there aren’t supposed to be a whole lot of four letter words at the happiest place on earth. She made it all the way through her second set without a problem, but during her third performance of the day, it must have slipped her mind because she swore again.

Disney promptly asked her not to return and is instead replacing her with a local band.

  • Gotta go with Disney on this one. You shouldn’t have to worry about your kids hearing words like that for $75 a day – especially from the (well) paid entertainment.

    • Absolutely. Plus, I’m willing to bet that in any job where you work with the public you’ll get fired for dropping the f-bomb twice in one day. Maybe now she’ll remember how to be professional.

      • I swear like a sailor in my personal life. I have a super foul mouth. In my professional life, I watch what I say.
And that’s the real issue. If your job calls for you to keep a clean mouth in your head for a designated period of time, you do it or you get fired. If you don’t like those terms, don’t accept the job.

  • And yet Miley Cyrus can pole dance. Okay hypocrites. I’d never willingly give that crapfest group another dime.

    • It makes sense to me. I have a 7yo daughter & 6yo son. Although they like Vanessa Hudgens they’ve never seen or even heard of her having nude photos. Like Jay above said, if I take them to Epcot for $75, I would except that they wouldn’t hear that by one of the performers.

      • So you’ve been a mother for at least & years and you’re still naive enough to think that your kids are only exposed to what you’ve exposed them to? Just because your kids aren’t sitting next to you reading EB or haven’t told you about it doesn’t mean they haven’t heard about the Vanessa Hudgens pics.. just saying

      • What’s your point? Are you saying that because they might have heard about it or eventually might see it, we may as well go ahead and expose them with no discretion?

      • No, not naive, involved. Like I said they are only 7 & 6, & I monitor everything that they do. Movies, tv, computer, video games, sports, friends, etc. I’m not saying that if they weren’t older that they wouldn’t have heard about the nude pics but at their age I’m sure they haven’t. Also because of their young ages they still tell me everything. So if by some chance they would have heard about the pics, I’m sure they would have asked me about it.

      • Yay!!! You are a good mom!!
Seriously, kudos to you. I’ve witnessed so much poor, uninvolved parenting so this comment is very refreshing. :)

    • She did obviously apologize for that and it’s not like she did it again. Vanessa Carlton on the other hand was warned and she did again.

  • This becomes an issue when your everyday speech is peppered with with cuss words. I hear it with young people every day. It happened on SNL. You get on stage and you are nervous, and you revert to your comfort zone, which is cussing. Those words were meant to be for EMPHASIS, not filler. Try, NOT swearing, and see if anyone complains

  • I saw her a few years ago at the Greek in LA, when she opened for the Goo Goo Dolls. She swore like a sailor and it had no context. The lead singer of the Dolls sorta referenced it when he came on, indicating that “oh, my, she’s really hardcore with that mouth….only not”. Paraphrasing there, but I thought it was hilarious. She was just out on the scene, playing piano, looking all young, and sounding like she was trying too hard to be a “rock star”. Turned me off…that, and that damned Thousand Miles song. I travel ten times that just to NOT hear it again.

  • I was at this concert with a group of adults. She was clueless to where she was, and made it clear she didn’t want to be there. She also dropped the “S-bomb” under her breath while trying to think of something to play. Disney needs to find higher caliber acts for these shows. This one hit wonder clearly missed the mark.

  • Who gives a f*** to Disney? Vanessa is so much bigger than that group of hypocrites. She’s a genius and people in this world should be worried with things more important than if a singer says fuck or not in her concerts. Stupid people, that’s why the world is the way it is.
