“It’s gay. If one more person asks me if I have a Twitter, I’m going to tell them, ‘Twitter this [bleep], mother[bleep]er.’ I don’t have anything to say, and what I have to say is not that relevant. Anything that is relevant, I’m going to bottle it up and then squeeze it onto a record somewhere.”
Kid Rock talking to Rolling Stone about his general distaste for all things Twitter. Do people really still say “It’s gay”? Apparently so.
Yeah I don’t like twitter much’ I was fallowing Mol…..but damn she has way to much to say.I mean really, nobody’s life is that interesting.
Yes, people say ‘it’s gay’. In this context it no longer relates to sexual preference, in the same way that ‘lame’ no longer relates to physical disability. It just means pisspoor. You’re welcome.
Go grab a dictionary and look up the word sarcasm
Actually I don’t think this is an instance of sarcasm. If Wendie had said “GAY? Nice one.” meaning the opposite, that would be an example of sarcasm.
Yep, “that’s gay” as in “that’s shit” is still alive and kicking.
Referring to things as “gay” is very much alive, so much so that there is a public service announcement commercial addressing teens not to describe things as such.
Yes, I do remember Hilary Duff’s PSA. LOLOL …
I had not seen that one but thinkb4youspeak.com tells me there are 3 such PSA on this topic. That’s so Emma and Julia!
Same with, “that’s retarded.” Old habits die hard.
In other news, I couldn’t agree with him more about Twitter.
Kid Rock doesn’t understand what Twitter can do for him as a musician. I recently put together a Social Media strategy for Nine Inch Nails here: http://derekshowerman.com/2009/06/17/a-nine-inch-nails-social-media-strategy-plan-dont-give-up-yet-trent/
This would be good for Kid Rock to read and help him understand that Twitter can help him market his music direct to the consumer while getting valuable feedback on future work-real time!
Oh for f’s sake, he’s a musician not a company! Artists are there to share their music with us about how THEY feel and not about how we tell them they should feel -.-
I’m not saying innovtae the music, Im saying give feedback on set lists, do a live CD or DVD, let the fan have a say in how the intake the artists music. Social media and twitter allows the artist to ability to get real time feedback on thoughts or ideas. Proven fact- when you give your customers what they want, when they want it, you win their business repeatedly.
Kid.. i normally abhor you… for now i’ll love you.
My feelings exactly!
Come on Bob
Dime, UK, Hex and Marvwon keep me LMAO all day long on Twitter.
You dont have to post Just read. lol
I still use “it’s gay” and “you’re so gay” when I make fun of my friends or want to insult them.
yeah, i still love living in a country where telling someone “you’re so gay” is an insult or makes fun of them. fags, gotta love to laugh at ’em.
since when is “gay” an insult? and why do you want to insult your friends?
“…and what I have to say is not that relevant.” I love that.
I totally agree with him. I wouldn’t use his exact words, but Twitter’s definitely stupid.
