Agreed, on both points. Last time I checked, Scarlett Johansen oozes sex appeal that is “just there” and is “something that (she) doesn’t have to turn on” and she’s smart and articulate and quick too. I suspect that Miss “I resent having to prove that I’m not a retard” is feeling a bit second rate, perhaps justifiably.

Sometimes smart people use “big words” because those are the words that best express what they want to say. Unlike words such as, um. . “retard” maybe? Whether you think people should use that word or not, she is speaking in a very public situation and should have been able to edit herself to “unintelligent” or “not smart” or whatever. That would have better expressed what she was trying to say.
