This pic is making the Internet rounds today — it’s Megan Fox and a 23-inch corsetted waist wandering around the set of her new film, the comic-book adaptation Jonah Hex.
I remember in college me and my friends were obsessed with these people who were obsessed with corsetting. I know that sounds weird, but someone found all these websites that were about corsetting where these women pretty much dedicated their lives to wearing tighter and tighter corsets until they looked totally disgusting. I’m talking WAY smaller waist-to-hip ratio than what Megan’s sporting here. We would check those sites every day. It fascinated us to no end. Then again, we were probably really high.
I did a little bit of Googling around, but the Internet is a way busier place than it was in 1999, and I’m having trouble finding anything like the kind of sites we used to look at. Anyone know what I’m talking about or where I can find them? Seriously I want you guys to see this stuff — it’s insane.

Not too long ago I saw a Ripley’s Believe it or Not episode. It was a segment on some crazy woman who has a thing for corsetts and she has molds made so her corsett-maker can design them specfically for her. There are alot of people who are into corsetts – I say people because there are men who like to be bound in corsetts too.
I saw something like that recently too. It was this woman who had her husband plaster her body so she could get custom corsets made from the molds. I can’t remember if it was her husband or not, but some dude on the show wore corsets too. OUTSIDE HIS CLOTHES. Fail.
I saw an episode on Oprah a few years ago about the same thing you’re thinking about. it was like two women who even slept in these binding things and had CRAZY waists like–5 inches around– because they were so sickly into being thin like that. they never took them off…gross.
Yes! One of them had a waist smaller than a bagel. They held a bagel up to her midsection to prove it. She looked like she was about to break in half and topple over.

I read an article once in which researchers concluded that a 0.7 waist to hip ratio is the perfect, ideal woman’s measurement.
i wear a corset every weekend. i only decrease down to a 22 or 23 inches (out of a 27″ waist) and it has taken me 2 years to do so comfortably, and even then i still can’t run or drive comfortably in one….so i really really REALLY don’t see how 15″ lady does it. or would want to do it.
and is that a 23″ on megan fox? it looks much smaller, like a 19″-20″, since she isn’t that big to begin with. if that’s a 23″, than her shoulders are linebacker sized.
i agree. her waist looks at most a 20. i think maybe they meant they put her in a 23″, and then cinched her waist so now maybe it is 20″.

yes, Dita Von Teese is probably the most famous “mainstream” celebrity that laces…and she can lace herself up (kind of impressive if you have ever tried to wear one)
It also helps that she is 5’2″ and probably about 100 pounds soaking wet. so her waist started small, even though 16.5″ is pretty crazy.
this video is so disgusting i couldn’t watch more than 10 seconds without feeling like i was going to pass out. that reminds me of a video i saw on oprah, where a plastic ring floating in the ocean got stuck around a baby turtles shell, and the turtle miraculously survived w/ a deformed shell the shape of an hour glass – plastic ring still in tact. these people are deforming themselves. the megan fox photo is quite disturbing as well.

when worn with care. what most of you have seen are the horror stories so naturally, you would all be turned off by it. isn’t there someone who always has to go beyond the extreme and make things unsightly?
but yes, for most, corsetry (sp?) is a fetish.
wearing a corset doesn’t necessarily mean you have to lace it as small as possible. just enough so you get that defined waist and hourglass shape.
