In case there was any doubt in your mind after Samantha hired a locksmith to come change her locks, Lindsay Lohan confirmed in a statement today that she and Samantha Ronson had broken up.
“We are taking a brief break so I can focus on myself,” she said. Um. I can’t even count the ways in which that statement is likely to be untrue. Hopefully Lindsay will be focusing on herself by getting to AA meetings and keeping her nose — quite literally — clean, but somehow I doubt that.
Meanwhile, Samantha hasn’t issued any statement, but on her MySpace page on Sunday she wrote that “aura in pleasanton is very pleasant.” I wouldn’t take this to mean anything other than the fact that she DJ’d at a club called Aura in Pleasanton, California, and didn’t have a terrible time, but I’m sure people will misconstrue it from here to Hong Kong.
Sheesh. The truth is, Lindsay Lohan is one of the few starlets around for whom I genuinely want the best. Despite myself, I’m always rooting for that crazy kid. I mean, sure, her antics drive traffic like crazy, but I’d gladly sacrifice that for her to have a little bit of serenity in her life. Take this time and get your act together for real, Lindsers.

I genuinely don’t understand what is so appealing or interesting about her or anything she does that drives a crazy amount of traffic to gossip sites like these. Her using drugs, cleaning up, relapsing, going lesbian (supposedly… because I’m not totally convinced “Samantha” is actually a female)…. all of it is really boring because her personality is dull.. she looks like she’s 50 years old in the face and to top it all off, she doesn’t DO anything worthwhile. She doesn’t act anymore and has basically taken to partying for a living. I just don’t get it.
I honestly couldn’t give two shits what happens to her.

I’m just kinda hoping somebody can explain to me what the fuck is appealing about her. I probably comment on posts about her more because her popularity is just one big riddle that my brain can’t decipher. Also, in all honesty, it sorta humors me when people stick up for her (or any “celebrity” that doesn’t really do anything) so I’m probably trying to push the buttons of people that take this shit too seriously.

oh I don’t know. It’s the whole American dream/train wreck thing. Britney is another example. First it’s like, oh little child star! So talented! Then they become adults, having grown up more or less in the public eye, and SHIT JUST HITS THE FAN. A lot of people grew up looking up to them in some way (at least, younger people), so it is just somehow fascinating to see your little idols fall.
And the bitch just does CRAZY shit. Like commandeering a car and getting a DUI, then bringing coke into the cop station with her? I mean, that’s entertainment.
I don’t really stick up for her. I do hope she gets better. I do feel bad about her parent situation, particularly her INSANE INSANE INSANE father.

false. The Ronsons are super famous. Sam was a popular dj before all this. Her brother is quite famous, and her sister is a fairly famous fashion designer.

i love lilo and i loved lilo and sam together. they were kind of unique and cute together. but lilo needs to pack a bag of leggings and some tanner and go chill in the mountain or something. come back and resume that career when she has got it together. as for sam if they really did break up this time i could see her having a career getting a few more hot young closeted starlets to come out of the closet!
Somehow I don’t think any more starlets will be coming out of the closet any time soon – given the media’s vomit of vitriol covering Lindsay this last year.

I find myself rooting for Britney too, for the same reasons. It’s not Lohan’s fault she was born into a family of crazy, with a philandering, drug and alcohol addicted father and a fame-hungry trainwreck of a ‘momager’. Sure, LL has made mistakes, but when you’re surrounded by crazy, you ACT that way.
At least Britney got her shit together (albeit with a lot of outside help); LL needs to cut ties with her family and take some time away from H-wood.
