SamRo Gets Acoustic for Lindsay

Here’s a little clip of Samantha Ronson performing a live acoustic set last night in LA at Genghis Cohen.

Sam got “awwwws” from the crowd when she told ’em “This is for Lindsay,” but the song included lyrics like “I’ll follow you out of control … I’m falling after you, in and out of love.” In her dedication Sam also said, “You get your heart broken sometimes and then you unbreak it and break it again.”

Lindsay was apparently sitting in the front row with a digital camera — and she said the song made her mad. Sigh.

Most importantly, though — can we get Simon Cowell to weigh in on Samantha’s vocal skills? Because she definitely would not have made it to Hollywood.

  • You missed the best part of the little exchange that happened, Lindsay said from the crowd that she was pissed at first when Samantha told her the song was about her.

  • It really depends when it was written…if during Lindsay’s trip(s) to rehab, and during the time they were conversing via her myspace / facebook pages (the messages that got leaked) then there is probably a lot of truth to what was being said, especially given the supposed argument that caused the DUI crash was about not acknowledging Samantha publiclly…
    Plus it does also say “I’ll follow you out of control…” Samantha described it aptly as a Bittersweet love song…and she has said before that she writes her best songs when her heart is broken.

  • That took balls. A lot of balls. The way people follow/stalk/harass their every move. She had to know that would get out some how and she threw herself out there anyway. I have a whole new respect for her.

  • super cute…:) And last time i checked she didn’t announce her amazing career as a singer, she was just playing with some friends; in front of other friends…give them some break….So no need to call Simon “ I wish my pants would go all the way up to my neck” Cowell to judge anything, because this season of UK X-factor showed that he’s clueless…*cough Cheryl Cole * cough

  • samro is kind of hot to be honest. i can totally see what lindsay sees in her-definetly worthy of a girl crush. the song was sweet.and it took a lot of balls doing that when quite obviously it would be on youtube within the hour and crititiqued by every blogger on the net.she used to be signed with damon dash someone said?

  • She missed a couple of notes in that song but on youtube there’s a clip of another one of her songs called Indian Summer performed that night, which is a pretty good song and her singing is better.

  • I love Samantha I think she is a down to earth chick who has the guts to be and do what she wants to. I say respect and if Lindsay couldn’t see the funny and sweet side to the honest song then she sucks but I bet she did as I don’t think Sam would of been stupid enough to dedicate it to her. I think it is lovely and even the slightly bad singing is adorable. She did a better job than madonna does that woman can’t sing live for peanuts although she does it for millions mmmm what was my point again???

  • I listened to the whole thing and thought it was actually quite good. Yes, she does seem to be down to earth and not the typical Hollywood socialite/actress.
