Ugh. This is just awful. Someone is extorting John Travolta for millions of dollars, threatening to release a photo taken of his son Jett as he was dying if the Travoltas don’t pay up.
The extortion plot was revealed as Travolta remained in seclusion at his sprawling home on the Jumbolair estate in central Florida.
Friends say he is still struggling to come to terms with the death of his son.
He has yet to be seen in public, and has rarely ventured from his home into the nearby town of Ocala where he is well known and despite his Hollywood status left alone
The extortion plot is believed to revolve around a photograph of Jett as he lay in the back of an ambulance. It is understood to have been taken on a mobile phone.
The alleged blackmailers are thought to have made contact with Travola and his Florida based lawyers Michael Ossi and Howard Butler.
Source close to the lawyers said Travolta was asked for money to keep the photograph from being sold.
I hope this photo doesn’t exist, and, if it’s released, I hope nobody runs it. Lord knows we certainly won’t. I don’t claim to have a whole lot of morals, but I draw the line at photos of dying teenagers.
Regardless of your thoughts of Travolta (and Scientology) I hope the public takes action if anyone does run it and boycotts those publications. However, I am guessing that this person attempted to sell it first and found no takers before it resorted to extortion.
Additionally, if it was taken in the ambulance, the suspect list has to be pretty narrow (1 or 2 people), I hope the ambulance company is taking action as well.
I smell bullshit. Didn’t he apparently like hit his head and die? Then wasn’t found until the next day? If anything, they have a pic of him dead. But I think they usually keep those ones covered.

From what I’ve read (broadcast news reports), Travolta last saw his son in the evening. His son went into the bathroom, had a seizure (the reports of hitting his head on the bathtub as the cause of death were contradicted by the coroner who ruled the COD from seizures), and was found in distress in the morning on the bathroom floor. However, all reports I’ve stated that Travolta immediately administered CPR with some success, but ultimately his son died en route to the hospital.

I think there is something very fishy about the kids death, but fact is… he was a kid, and he’s dead. As a parent, that very thought is beyond imagination. If there is any truth to this story, I say Karma is a bitch may it come back to that person 20 times over!

i think because the photo involves blackmail anyone who runs it will be considered part of the blackmail scheme and could be prosecuted. i doubt anyone will run that risk. ugh – that is so gruesome. i hope they catch whoever is doing this.
