There he goes blaming the music industry for his mother’s death. Though I think it’s really horrible that his mother died during surgery, he shouldn’t be blaming everyone else for his problems. Nobody forced his mother to get plastic surgery. She did it all on her own. Yeah, there’s influence from the entertainment industry, but you need to overcome it and learn to be content with yourself. (Sappy, I know.)

If his mother had done the right thing such as a good diet and exercise she wouldn’t have taken the easy way out and had plastic surgery in the first place and perhaps she would still be alive today. It’s sad that she passed away, but he needs to look at the situation more honestly.
Aw, come on, guys. I usually find Kanye irritating, but this seemed very heartfelt. It’s a sad situation, and his misplaced guilt is a sad thing.

The way I read it he is blaming himself not the music industry, he is saying if he never would have become famous, had so much money and been around the rich famous and fabulous with his mother in tow, she would have no interest in living that life, therefore she would have never had the surgery and they would be living the same humble lives they always lived.
But I see what you are saying too, if she would ahve just been happy with herself she would not have had the surgery.

fyi: if you’ve been very overweight you can’t always diet and exercise your way to a body you feel good about. you can’t diet/exercise away lots of extra skin, so some people opt for tummy tucks. and unless you’ve had to go through life with very large breasts, you don’t know the huge relief of having breast reduction surgery (i don’t think it should even be called “cosmetic surgery” because it often reduces back pain, neck pain, and other health problems).
i feel sad for anyone who’s lost a parent they love.
First of all, he is not blaming the music industry. He is blaming himself. Secondly, she did not die DURING surgery. Alot of these comments are way out of line, judgemental and cruel. It’s a little too late for all your coulda woulda shoulda’s.
It’s VERY hard to deal with the pain of losing a parent. You shouldnt be so quick to be so cruel…….u may not like it if the shoe was on the other foot.

I can’t help but be cynical about this comment. I never liked his personality, and I just get the feeling that sometimes he uses this for some sort of gain. I don’t deny that he is really in pain, and I would never wish ill like that on a person, but I just don’t feel right about anything involving him and what comes out of his mouth.

From my memory, without google, she wanted to have pounds removed by having the bypass surgery.
She want to a doctor who said she wasn’t a good candidate. She then went to another doctor who did it.
If I remember correctly, he was actually a pretty famous plastic surgeon, pretty sure he was on an earlier show that showed medical procedures.
A few days later she died of complications…
After she died, he went downhill and lost his license as well…
