Word is Carrie Underwood is about to join American Idol after Katy Perry left the show at the end of last season.
TMZ first reported the story last night saying the 2005 winner of the competition was thisclose to signing a contract that would bring her back to the show where the world first met the country singer.
Carrie would join Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan. Giving the show a country heavy judge line up.
TMZ says Carrie is also scheduled to be on GMA’s Summer Concert Series on Friday. Which makes people suspect that’s also the day she’ll announce the deal.
Just last week Carrie was seen with her family in Hawaii. Likely getting in some rest before the big season gets ready to start.
