A truly sad day for country music fans around the world as a staple of the genres music scene has died. Country singer Toby Keith has died due to complications from cancer.
His official Facebook account posted early Tuesday morning, saying he died peacefully Monday night, surrounded by his family.
The singer, known for songs like “Red Solo Cup” and “Should’ve Been a Cowboy,” revealed in 2022 that he had been diagnosed with stomach cancer. Last year, he received the Country Icon Award at the People’s Choice Country Awards.
“He fought his fight with grace and courage,” Keith’s official Facebook account posted.
Expect to see a great outpouring of love and respect from those close to him as well as in the music world.
