Here’s the ridiculous story. And make note, anyone trying to get famous, eventually, they all lose their marbles.
Way back in 2004 Gwen Stefani put out a clothing line she named Harajuku Lovers collection. Named so for the area of Tokyo that is filled with color and fashion makers and a hub of new culture. And while some might not think it’s Gwens place to use a Japanese name for her clothing, most agreed it was more of an homage.
Now we come to the 2023’s and the world has ceased to make sense. And in a recent Allure Mag article Gwen dropped this bomb: “I said, ‘My God, I’m Japanese and I didn’t know it,’” she told the interviewer, who is actually Asian.
“I am, you know,” she doubled down.
Gwen further claimed she is “a little bit of an Orange County girl, a little bit of a Japanese girl, a little bit of an English girl.”
Reps now say the singer was just misunderstood, but I’m thinking its more a case of someone who gets so far removed from society that they no longer feel societal rules apply to them.
Shame, Gwen.
