You likely know Edith McClurg as Grace, the principles assistant in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. She’s the adorable middle-aged redhead that describes Ferris as “A righteous dude”. People over the age of 40 may also remember her as the Fargo accented Mrs Pool on Valerie, with Jason Bateman.
However you know her, there are some serious claims being made on her behalf by members of her family.
A conservator for Edith has filed a protective order against a California man, claiming he “finagle[d]” his way into the actress’s life and tried to marry her as she battles dementia. The same man is accused of sexually assaulting one of McClurg’s caregivers.
McClurg’s lawyer was granted against Michael L. Ramos until a later hearing, which is scheduled for Aug. 25.
The claims are disgusting. “Mr. Ramos claims to be the conservatee’s ‘longtime friend’ and was able to ingratiate himself into the conservatee’s life while she was battling dementia,” Cabral alleged in documents.
“He later attempted to remove the conservatee from the state of CA in order to marry her when he knew she lacked capacity,” Cabral said, adding that the court “prevented him from doing so.”
She also noted that the actress and Ramos “have never been romantically involved.”
There is a special place in hell for people who take advantage of the elderly.
