Chris Rock has mentioned the slap laid on him by Will Smith at the Oscars in round about ways, but now he directly went at it to a crowd of 20,000+.
Rock was at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey when the chat with the audience went down.
“Anyone who says words hurt has never been punched in the face,” Rock said Sunday, according to US Weekly. He later said, “I’m not a victim. Yeah, that sh*t hurt, motherf*cker. But I shook that sh*t off and went to work the next day. I don’t go to the hospital for a paper cut.”
Rock, on a nationwide comedy tour with Kevin Hart, made a similar quip at the MSG show Saturday.
Rock and Hart surprised their sold-out MSG audience Saturday with a special unannounced appearance by Dave Chappelle.
