For weeks now Dancing with the Stars’s pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy was in his native country of Ukraine working as a judge on the show “World of Dance”.
That’s when Putins foolish war broke out.
Maksim began documenting his attempts to flee the country on his Instagram account.
“[There’s] a lot of fighting everywhere. Streets are crazy. At one point I got arrested. … But all good, promise,” Chmerkovskiy said in one of his videos. “That was probably the least traumatizing moment in this whole thing as far as Ukraine is concerned, but for me, it was a reality check.”
Then, finally, after safely getting to Poland he was able to get a flight into the US and landed at good ol’ LAX.
Maksim was met by and immediately embraced by his wife, Peta Murgatroyd. It was really a beautiful moment and we all so happy for all the Ukrainians who were able to get out on that flight.
