There was a lot of speculation as to whether super pundit Rachel Maddow would remain at MSNBC when her contract came to an end in 2022.
Aside from openly complaining about a 5 day a week work schedule dragging her down, Maddow also switched agents recently to Entourage inspo Ari Emanuel and the Endeavour Co.
Maddow is easily one of the networks highest rated hosts and it was important for new MSNBC President Rashida Jones (not the actress) to hang on to the top talent.
My guess is Ari got her a pile of money and some extra down time. She’s signed for an unknown number of years, but said to be “many”. And she’ll also develop other projects within the NBC Universe.
Maddow’s show has consistently been in the top five of all cable news shows. In July, The Rachel Maddow Show averaged 2.29 million viewers, behind Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight, Hannity and The Five.
