One of Gwen Stefani’s biggest spiritual hurdles to marrying Blake Shelton has finally been cleared, with the singer granted an annulment to her first marriage.
The 51-year-old singer was married to Bush singer Gavin Rossdale from 2002 to 2015, with the couple sharing three kids, Kingston, 14, Zuma, 12 and Apollo, 6.
Stefani is also a devout Catholic, whose faith only permits her to re-marry if the first marriage is annulled, with US Weekly reporting the annulment was, ‘finally granted.’
‘Gwen was told the decision was made by the Vatican tribunal,’ said an insider of the annulment, coming five years after Stefani and Rossdale split in August 2015.
‘She will be receiving the notification in writing in the next few weeks, but it’s official,’ the source added.
