Ben Platt is in a relationship with his “Dear Evan Hansen” successor Noah Galvin, Galvin has revealed.
“Ben and I are dating,” Galvin, 26, confirmed on the latest episode of the “Little Known Facts” podcast.
The pair have kept their romance quiet, but Galvin said they’re both ready to take things public.
“I asked him this morning. I was like, ‘Are we allowed to talk about this?’ And he’s like, ‘Don’t go into our nitty-gritty, but yeah, people can know,’” Galvin said. “It’s still relatively new.”
The actors initially started out as friends but connected on a deeper level after Galvin took over for Platt, 26, in the Broadway show’s leading role, for which Platt won a 2017 Tony.
Their social circle is tightly knit, and Galvin joked it can get a bit “incestuous,” as their “Dear Evan Hansen” friends Taylor Trensch and Ben Levi Ross are also dating.
“It makes sense, like, we all went through the war together. We all feel very connected,” he said.
For Galvin’s recent birthday on May 6, the “Politician” actor gave him a thoughtful homemade gift.
“Long story short, Ben made me a birthday video. Ben very sweetly for the past, like, probably three months, has been putting together this video for me,” he said. “It’s all my favorite drag queens from ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ and beyond and all of my friends in drag, wishing me a happy birthday.”
Things appear to be getting serious as Platt and Galvin are currently quarantined together.
