This is a major bummer for me. I was a big fan of the crime drama from Netflix called ‘Mindhunter’. It was based on the true book about the creation of serial kill profiling and featured actors playing real serial killers from history while 2 feds picked through the recesses of their warped minds.
Now word is out that 5 months after the release of the second season, the streaming channel let the lead actors options (their contracts) lapse without resigning them. A sure sign no 3rd season is in the near future. And a statement from a Netflix spokes person said show creator David Fincher “He may revisit Mindhunter again in the future”, which to me says “aint gonna happen”.
“David is focused on directing his first Netflix film Mank and on producing the second season of Love, Death and Robots,” the spokesperson said in a statement. “He may revisit Mindhunter again in the future, but in the meantime felt it wasn’t fair to the actors to hold them from seeking other work while he was exploring new work of his own.”
