There’s been some serious criticism about the upcoming Netflix movie, “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile”, about the crimes of Ted Bundy. Most are from people claiming the film sexualizes and romanticizes the man many consider the worst serial killer in US history.
Starring Zach Efron as a spot on Bundy, the film follows the murderous life from the perspective of his longtime girlfriend, Elizabeth, played by Lily Collins. Elizabeth did not believe Bundy committed the crimes and stood by him for years. Of course, in order to tell that story, a certain amount of sympathy and concern for Bundy has to be conveyed to represent her adoration for him and that’s bound to set off some cinema snowflakes.
Here’s the way I see it. It’s a god damn movie. Go on with your day.
But the trailer is pretty enticing.
