The best part is that it’s a lot of what Palin actually said in the real interview. The SNL writers didn’t have to do much to make it much funnier than it was in reality.
I cannot WAIT for the debate on Thursday!
Please, please don’t vote McCain/Palin, take it as an outsider looking in.
The big picture looks so bleak with them in power.
Haha, oh my, that was great!
I’m going to second the “outsider looking in” thing.. Americans, please, be sensible (at least the majority of you) and do not vote for McCain/Palin..
Aaaaaaaahahahahahahaha…. That was just priceless!!!
LMAO! I missed that one last night… that’s hilarious.
I especially love that she tries to sound so smart about things with her word choice but when it’s all put together it just makes zero fucking sense.
Then again, that’s most politicians. Heh.
“katie, i’d like to use one of my lifelines.” too awesome.
Its funny on SNL but its pretty close to what she said, therefore you should ALL be scared.
God damn it all, I love Tina Fey. No, scratch that, I’m IN love with Tina Fey. With the very real possibility that McCain and Palin could actually make it into the White House, she can actually make me laugh about it. When what I want to do is invest in an underground bunker in Switzerland. Yes, this situation is that frightening.
Agreed. That sketch basically wrote itself…it’s hilarious on SNL and nauseating/scary/embarrassing/unintelligible/etc. on CBS.
Tina Fey is to Sarah Palin as to Frank Caliendo is to Goerge W. Bush.
It’s even scarier if Obama gets in.
Enough already….We get it, SP is like a female GWB….words fail her because thoughts fail her. Let’s hope McCain stays healthy…
keightlynn….you scare me….are you really Elisabeth Hasselbeck?
I’m with love the beet…. That girl has already come out of the closet as homophobic and taken pictures of herself mostly naked in the same day, Jesus loves her.
OMG, How did you know?
There are 6.7 billion people in the world. 100% of us are affected in our daily lives by the choice of American president, but only about 3 million of the world’s people live in the USA.
This scares me!
Ahahaha. Tina Fey is awesome now. (I hated her in Mean Girls.) Watching this makes me want to watch the real thing!
@ purplemonkeybrains
A lot of things probably scare you when you’re HIGH ON CRACK!
There are 300 million people in the United States NOT 3 million.
3 million is the population of rednecks in Mississippi…many of which, I’m guessing, are probably related to you.
OOO BURN. tss just destroyed you purplemonkey
Tina Fey is a genius! I’ve been growing really tired of hearing about Sarah Palin-Sarah Palin-Sarah Palin-SARAH PALIN but this was totally worth it! The funniest thing is…. Tina Fey wasn’t too far off in a lot of ways.
Are we really going to vote this woman into office. It’s like a chimp with lip stick on. Very scared for the future of this country!
LOL TSS. thank you!
My dear, dear liberals. This parody was exceptionally good, and yet McCain/Palin will WIN in November. You were surprised in 2000, surprised in 2004, and you will yet be surprised again. If any of you had a shred of courage you would immigrate, as you get our hopes up and then never follow through.
It’s not the end of the world, it’s just the end of YOU. Sweet dreams.
@woohoo and love the beet- she also said that the war was money well spent. can’t forget that one.
TSS, okay let’s forget the numbers here, you obviously missed the point.
that one went right over your head and under your feet…woooosh!
AlmostChosen
another good point, you would think people would learn the first time after 2000 elections, or at least the second time in the 2004 elections…but nah let’s try it a third time and see how much further you can get up shit creek this time….oh don’t forget to leave your paddles on the shore, cuz you won’t really need them, eh?
*rolls eyes*
Yeah, your right joan, she did.
Its sad the bastards can fix elections right, almost choosen & purple money?
I love when you guys talk about me. It makes my day :]
A conservative speaks her mind and all the sudden you guys freak out. Amazing. I must really scare you.
You scare us, but probably not in the way you’re thinking.
Probably because you don’t like what I stand for/believe in. Which is fine, I could really care less what people over the internet think of me, unless they call me fat, haha :P
@keightlynn –
I try not to post because I don’t think it’s a good use of my time to argue with the Obamaites – but I agree with the majority of your posts!
and I def. agree with what you said about the conservatives getting attacked and name-called if we speak up, Not much tolerance for opposing points of view.
Jeez, AlmostChosen, are you threatening our lives? Yikes. You sound like Dick Cheney on a hunting trip.
I guess the one thing I don’t understand is the pride behind backing idiots. Conservatives were so proud that George Bush could hardly tie his shoes, as if it’s charming that the leader of the free world is a buffoon. And now with Sarah Palin, people like AlmostChosen admit it’s a great parody (therefore admitting that this woman is a political imbecile) and yet you are so proud of your ticket?!?! I just don’t get it. I don’t get why intelligence is seen as such an unattractive quality to some on the right.
Eyes of Green- respectable opposing views are fine in my book. When you yourself are name calling and trash talking (waste of time talking to “Obamaites”- which looks like more than half the country right now, mind you), I’m not sure what you expect. I of course disagree with conservatives on social issues, but as long as someone is respectful in their disagreements, I’m cool with it.
exactly, @ dinosaurs, that is why I love America because we have the freedom of expression but its slowly being taken away (that is a whole other post though) I am all for a good, clean, argument.=)
i can’t wait to see what tina fey does with palin after the debates.
It’s so easy to call someone who’s just been thrown into the national political limelight ignorant and stupid. However, I just wonder how many of those who comment on here knew what the Bush Doctrine was, or even that it existed, before Charles Gibson asked Palin about a few weeks ago. Perhaps she didn’t know what it was because, as a governor, she was too busy taking care of issues dealing with her own state and therefore didn’t have the opportunity to become an expert on foreign policy.
In all honesty, I’m not even a really big fan of McCain or Palin. I think once again the Republican Party has dropped the ball this year. But I’m even less a fan of “the big government should take care of me”-liberal idealists who want to be coddled and spoiled with fat federal programs that almost always turn into giant boondoggles (all at the expense of the taxpayer, of course). Therefore, every time that McCain or Palin get goofed on by the media, I feel more compelled to vote for them in November. So keep up the good work, Tina Fey — whenever I watch your skit, I’m reminded to fill out my ballot. Now all of those that bother to respond to this, make sure you start it out with “Loco, it’s people like you who scare me…” Otherwise, I’ll be most disappointed.
Loco, it’s people like you who scare me – just kidding.
I just wanted to remind everyone that just because someone makes fun of Sarah Palin or likes the fact that someone else did, it doesn’t mean they are a liberal. I happen to be a moderate and I don’t agree with most, ok, any of Sarah’s “policies”. I also would have at least a tiny bit of respect for this woman, if, during interviews when she is asked a question that she doesn’t know the answer to, to just say, “i don’t know the answer” instead of trying to sound like she knows what she is talking about.
loco: i knew what the bush doctrine was before that sad interview, and many people all over the world knew what it was too, because it was a history making event (the concept of preemptive attack). that is something palin, as a governor, should be familiar with, especially if she is delusional enough to believe that she has the power to send troops to war. but it wasn’t just that one thing palin didn’t know…she is shockingly clueless about lots of things outside of alaska. i know mc cain wanted a woman running mate, but holy shit, there are much more intellligent, experienced and competent republican women he could have chosen. i think all he wanted was a cute cheerleader who would defer to him like a daughter, and he got one. unfortunately we may end up with the same cheerleader for president and that is terrifying.
A woman who is governor and commander of chief of her state’s national guard, a woman who is running for vice president of the US, a woman whose son will soon be deployed to Iraq (if he hasn’t been already) should know what the Bush Doctrine is.
Two things senor… when speaking of big government boondoggles that are at the expense of the taxpayers, you might want to look at 1) the Iraq war and 2) the deregulation of Wall Street. That seems to be costing us a pretty penny.
Secondly, I am just a simple Texan girl (who, sadly, has been to more foreign countries than our VP candidate) and I knew what the Bush doctrine was in all its forms. Sarah Palin isn’t stupid, by any means, but she is not smart enough to run the country, period.
Senor Loco (hello again!)-
There are plenty of things about our government that I am not fmailiar with (I, also, happened to know what the Bush doctrine was, however) and that’s why I would never dream of running for office (well, just one of the many reasons). Sarah Palin IS ignorant about our government. I’m not saying she’s ignorant because she’s lazy. Sure, she was running Alaska. That’s great. But we should not be putting someone that close to the presidency who does not know at all about foreign policy, economy, health care, etc. That’s just plain dangerous.
I think maybe you should rethink the bi government thing a little. Considering the recent crash on Wall Street was due to the mortgage crisis. A HUGE reason people could not afford to pay their mortgage was because of medical bills. Since so many of us do not have health care, or have crappy healthcare, one big accident could bankrupt us. It’s becoming more and mroe common, and frankly, it’s becoming irresponsible of our government to do nothing about the crisis. Also, look at what happens when government does not regulate on wall street. Maybe we do need a little big government…
And I don’t think Republicans dropped the ball this year. This President dropped the ball the last 8 years. The party screwed up. The idea of trickle down economics failed. It was a Repub strategy. You don’t get rewarded for that.
Um… I wrote that in a hurry. bi government= big government. Although bi government sounds pretty funny.
@Dinosaurs
*applauding* Well said.
well put.
TINA FEY FOR PRESIDENT 2008. Let’s LOL our way outta Iraq.
i think katie is such a beauful woman i would love to make love to her for hours an hours sucking them tits fucking the shit out of that pussy eating her pussy mmmmmmmmmm i love to do alot of wild things with her
