A crew of four suspected burglars has been arrested in connection with a string of celebrity break-ins — and the crooks had a list of more potential targets including the homes of Viola Davis, LeBron James, and Matt Damon, cops said.
Tyress Williams, 19, and three others were busted by the LAPD after break-ins at the homes of Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Robert Woods, singer Rihanna, and baseball star Yasiel Puig, according to the LAPD.
“[We] have become aware of a series of residential burglaries targeting actors, producers, musicians, and professional athletes living in the Los Angeles area,” the LAPD said in the press announcement.
LAPD detectives believe the four may be responsible for even more burglaries.
The crew targeted celebrities based on social media posts and touring or travel schedules of the owners — to approach the residences when no one was home, authorities said.
Cops found $50,000 in cash as well as luxury watches and jewelry in the suspects’ homes.
The LAPD displayed some of the loot during an afternoon press conference in the hopes of returning them to their owners.
Also discovered was a list of a dozen more celebrities who were allegedly being targeted by the burglars.
Cops believe that more suspects are outstanding and are asking the public to help apprehend all the alleged burglars.
