Burberry has become the latest fashion house to unveil plans to go fur-free – and campaigners say it could all be down to Meghan Markle.
The British label, which holds a royal warrant, confirmed it was ‘reviewing’ the use of fur in its clothing and said that fur had been banned from recent collections in a statement to The Sunday Times over the weekend.
And animal charity Humane Society International (HSI) has suggested the brand’s decision could be down to Prince Harry’s fiancée and her pro-animal stance.
Executive director Claire Bass said: ‘Burberry is famous for being a royal fashion favourite so Meghan Markle, who is well-known for disliking fur, joining the family is sure to have made the quintessentially British brand look twice at its fur policy.
