I’m not a car gal, but I appreciate “bests” in all fields. Especially when the winner promotes a better future.
Motor Trend recently hosted a drag race with todays top performance cars to see who would reign supreme. 12 cars participated in the race, all the car models were 2017 including Lexus LC500, Alfa Romeo GIULIA, Aston Martin DB11, Mercedes Benz AMG GTR, McLaren 570GT, Ferrari 488 GTB, Tesla Model S P100D, Porsche 911 Turbo S, Nissan GTR Nismo, Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE, Porsche 718 Cayman S, Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport.
With all that power and time tested engineering, the Tesla still took first place. It’s only real competition being the Porsche Turbo S and the Ferrari.
As Motor Trend points out, if the drag race were any longer, the result would have been different. Tesla’s performance models get going in a hurry, but they peter out before too long. It’s limited to a top speed of 155 mph, well below the 200-mph-plus speedometers on the Porsche and Ferrari. The P100D might be one of the world’s quickest cars, but it’s far from being the fastest.
I’ve queued the video up to the start of the race if you’d fancy a look.
I love drag races of supercars. Its exictes me to a whole new level. Muscle & Fitness
What a crock of shit. Using a Corvette Grand Sport which has 200 less HP than a Z06.
