verything old is new again — including “TRL.”
The music variety show, which ran for more than 2,200 episodes from 1998 to 2008, will return to the airwaves in October, MTV president Chris McCarthy told the New York Times Sunday.
“Total Request Live” was hosted by Carson Daly until 2003, then replaced by a rotation of VJs, including Damien Fahey, Hilarie Burton, Vanessa Minnillo, Quddus, La La Vasquez and Susie Castillo.
The show ended on Nov. 13, 2008 with Seth Green and The All-American Rejects, followed by a three-hour special three days later with Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Nelly, Beyoncé, 50 Cent, Fall Out Boy, Backstreet Boys, Justin Timberlake, Kid Rock, JC Chasez, Christina Aguilera, Travis Barker, Taylor Swift, Hilary Duff, Eminem and Korn’s Jonathan Davis.
