Prepare yourself, President Trump: Stephen Colbert is bringing out the big guns.
The “Late Show” host will have a “Daily Show” reunion next week — with guest appearances by Jon Stewart, Samantha Bee, John Oliver, Ed Helms and Rob Corddry — as his war with the commander-in-chief continues.
The call for reinforcements was announced Wednesday by CBS, and comes amid Colbert’s ratings battle with Jimmy Fallon and his growing “c–k holster” controversy.
Billed as a “special evening of comedy and conversation,” the reunion will take place during next Tuesday night’s episode.
Colbert appeared on “The Daily Show” from 1997 until 2005, serving as one of the show’s original “correspondents.”
While Stewart, Bee, Oliver and Corddry have all made appearances on the “Late Show” since he took over, Helms has yet to be a guest.
Colbert has been neck-deep in a ratings race with Fallon’s “Tonight Show” in recent months, though he’s managed to remain on top for 13 straight weeks.
The funnyman hit a major speed bump on Monday after he went on a vulgar, 12-minute rant about President Trump — following his controversial treatment of CBS reporter John Dickerson.
“The only thing your mouth is good for is being Vladimir Putin’s c–k holster!” Colbert declared during his opening monologue.
Many have called his comments homophobic and urged CBS to punish him for it. The hashtag #FireColbert has even been trending on social media.
“Imagine if a Conservative Comedian said that about Obama?” wrote one Twitter user. “He would’ve lost his job & his career would’ve been tarnished. #FireColbert.
