Patrick Swayze was one of the hottest actor of the 80’s and 90’s, since he first caught the worlds attention in the hit classic, The Outsiders, in 1983. A lot of memorabilia builds up over a couple dozen films.
Swayze died in 2009 from pancreatic cancer and this past week his widow Lisa auction hundreds of his belonging at a Los Angeles auction house.
She revealed that she ‘mixed feelings’ about selling the items, including the jacket worn in the 1985 movie, a shirt from the 1990 movie Ghost, and the surfboard from Point Break, and admitted that her grief counselor had advised the auction would be ‘healthy’ for her mental health.
However the decision has sparked a feud in the family after Swayze’s niece Danielle Swayze called for the auction to be cancelled, arguing the items should remain in the family: ‘These were family heirlooms. It’s a slap in the face that she’s selling these precious memories.’
