I haven’t thought about Hilary Duff in ages, to be honest — she’s not really in my wheelhouse, truth be told — but I do remember the last time I DID hear anything about her, it had to do with her sorta kinda maybe reconciling with her estranged husband and father of her child, Mike Comrie. I don’t think that ever truly came to pass — they were apparently just being mature adults attempting to raise a kid together — but now both of them are back in the headlines for the worst reasons: Comrie is being investigated for rape.
According to TMZ, the LAPD is currently investigating Comrie over claims that he raped a woman at his house. However, Comrie says the sex was consensual.
Law enforcement sources tell us the woman claims she met up with Comrie at a bar Saturday night and went back to his West L.A. condo. She claims he raped her multiple times.
The woman says she almost immediately went to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center nearby, and a rape kit was administered.
Sources connected with Comrie say he’s known the woman for a long time and acknowledges he had sex with her, but insists she gave full consent. The sources also say the encounter was a 3-way and the other woman has not filed any complaint.
Apparently he’s not yet spoken to police so it’s unclear just how seriously they’re taking these allegations, but these are definitely serious claims that deserve attention from law enforcement officials.
