She’s sticking around to play Hillary Clinton when necessary, but, after that, Amy Poehler will be peacing out to have a baby — and she’s not going to return.
“It’s gonna be really hard — Boyz II Men hard — to say goodbye to yesterday,” she says. “SNL was dangerous, late-night, last-minute and star-studded, but like any good drug, you need to know when to put it down.”
Amy will be working in some capacity on The Office spinoff after she leaves SNL, but she hasn’t gone into much detail about that.
SNL needs more chicks on it now.
Hire me!
SNL needs to clean house and fire every “comedian” and writer on that show. It’s been nearly unwatchable for 6 or 7 years now. It doesn’t even resemble a show that’s supposed to be funny anymore. I’d get more laughs watching a 1993 episode of Matlock.
she wants to be a mommy right now. Yea!!
You could totally be the next Tina Fey, Beet
I always watch the first 5-10 minutes for the opening skit but I never watch the whole show because it’s terrible! I love Mad T.V. !
You should ABSOLUTLY be on SNL. I hate the show but my husband LOVES it so if we are home (usually) and I’m awake (sometimes) I’m forced to watch it. UGH!!! It sucks!
amy poehler is one of the only good cast members that show has. staying is starting to damage her rep. she’s smart to get the hell out of there.
Hey Beet…
From what I understand the SNL players write most of their own material…create their own characters that allows them to have airplay on SNL. I would certainly think you should submit your resume…
I am serious…your biting commentary has brilliance and wit…just the stuff SNL needs…and from the pics you have posted you are camera friendly.
I would miss your blog, but I would be a fan and watch you on SNL. What do you have to lose?…..
A FAN
I only recognise her from Baby Mama :P
