Mischa Barton is no stranger to mental health issues. Years ago, she spent time in a psychiatric ward after suffering a breakdown due to the pressures of fame she experienced as a result of her role on The O.C. She did make a bit of a recovery since then and seemed to be managing okay, but things have taken a turn for the worse again and Mischa has been rehospitalized after sparking concern from neighbors for some very bizarre behavior at her home on Thursday.
From TMZ:
Sources connected to Mischa tell us she was hanging over her backyard fence in West Hollywood and rambling about her mom being a witch, the world shattering … and Ziggy Stardust. At one point she fell backward off the fence and said, “Oh my God, it’s over! I feel it, and it’s angry!”
She was only wearing a dress shirt and tie at the time.
Yikes. Sheriff’s deputies and firefighters turned up after they were called for a jumper and a possible overdose. Thankfully, Mischa was voluntarily escorted safely to the hospital for a mental health evaluation. It’s unclear whether or not she’s still there or if she’s been released, but here’s hoping she gets better soon. Mental health issues aren’t fun and can be harmful to yourself and other people, so hopefully she’s getting the help she needs and can get stabilized quickly.
