Disney and Lucasfilm’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story top-lined the fourth largest December three-day weekend ever, delivering the third largest opening of 2016, the twelfth largest opening of all-time!
New Line’s Collateral Beauty, didn’t fare quite so well, delivering the worst wide opening for a Will Smith-led feature ever. Not surprising since the reviews were some of the worst I’ve ever read. Mostly about how sappy it was and trite and plotless.
