With it’s beaches and warm, humid weather, Hawaii has a reputation as a sunny paradise for a reason. But although the average temperature of the Big Island’s cold season is a balmy 81 degrees Fahrenheit, that doesn’t mean it’s immune to a bit of snow. In fact right now the Big Island is buried beneath more than two feet of snow.
Winter has hit the volcanos Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea! The volcano peaks, which are both well over 13,000 feet high, do get a seasonal snow cap, but nothing like this. Enjoy a look at the rarely seen snowy Hawaii.
