Amy Schumer was inundated on her twitter account last night by people calling for the comedian to fire a writer on her Inside Amy Schumer show, because of comments he made about rape victims on his own twitter page.
Writer Kurt Metzger has upset a lot of people when he slammed rape victims for not reporting the assault when it happens. Metzger was more or less defending a fellow comedians (who he says he does not know) right to due process before people assume claims of rape from several women are true.
Schumer responded to an onslaught of demands to her twitter account by insisting she can’t fire the writer, because he doesn’t work on her show. She did, however, note that she does know him and that she “couldn’t be more against his recent actions”.
But it was in yet another tweet from her that the real mystery lies… “I didn’t fire Kurt. He isn’t a writer for my show because we aren’t making the show anymore. There are no writers for it.” Was Amy implying the show is getting a rehaul and becoming something new or that the show has been cancelled entirely? I would think Comedy Central would do all it could to keep her, so the choice to move on would likely be hers.
The show was renewed for a 5th season as long ago January 2016. Schumers reps did not get back to us in time for posting.
