I’ve basically been calling Kristen Stewart‘s gayness since she was in Panic Room when I think she was about 11 or 12. She may not have known it yet, but I saw a glimmer in her eye that told me she’d grow up to be a giant lesbo. I feel vindicated that I turned out to be right, particularly because I totally dig her androgynous vibe and bad attitude and think she’s pretty hot. Welcome to the team, KStew!
Of course, Kristen doesn’t seem to need the welcome since she’s already pretty stoked about having a girlfriend. She’s still with Alicia Cargile (previously referred to in the media as her cousin, her personal assistant and (my personal favorite), her “gal pal.” They’re happier than ever, and Kristen’s loving the freedom of being with someone who’s not Robert Pattinson.
From Elle UK (via Digital Spy):
“When I was dating a guy I was hiding everything that I did because everything personal felt like it was immediately trivialised, so I didn’t like it,” she explained.
“We were turned into these characters and placed into this ridiculous comic book, and I was like, ‘That’s mine. You’re making my relationship something that it’s not.’ I didn’t like that.”
“But then it changed when I started dating a girl,” she told the magazine.
“I was like, ‘Actually, to hide this provides the implication that I’m not down with it or I’m ashamed of it, so I had to alter how I approached being in public.
“It opened my life up and I’m so much happier.”
“I think also right now I’m just really in love with my girlfriend,” she said.
“We’ve broken up a couple of times and gotten back together, and this time I was like, ‘Finally, I can feel again.'”
Do you, KStew. I’m glad you’re happy! It always feels even more amazing to be in love not only when the relationship is great, but when you’re not hiding anything and you’re free to just be yourself.
