Tom Cruise hasn’t seen his daughter Suri for a while, now. Instead, Suri has lived with her mother, Katie Holmes, in New York City. The reason for her father’s absence can be summed up in one word: Scientology. Basically, the Church isn’t happy that Suri isn’t being raised in the church, so they’re forbidding him, in so many words, from having contact with her. But it seems like Cruise might call BS on that directive soon because he wants to be part of Suri’s life.
RadarOnline.com has learned that the actor is hoping to have his 9-year-old girl accompany him while he promotes his new movie, Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation.
“Tom wants to bring Suri to Comic Con in early July, where he can kill two birds with one stone,” an insider reveals to Radar of the annual convention that takes place in Southern California.
“He’ll get to spend quality time with his daughter, whom he hasn’t seen in months and misses terribly,” continues the source. “They’ll be able to take in San Diego while he drums up buzz for the movie.”
Given that Tom is ready to commit to helping to raise Suri now, does that mean he might consider leaving the Church? It’s hard to say, but it seems unlikely – especially since Scientology made him, and they can easily destroy him if he turns his back on them.
If I were Katie, however, I’d be concerned that the Church would try to get Tom to get Suri so that she can be brought back into the world of Scientology, etc. I would not want my child anywhere near that cult, so who knows what will happen there.
He’s bigger than $cio and probably can tell us things, so they will let him go.
