Things are still very touch-and-go in Bobbi Kristina‘s world. Despite statements from her father, Bobby Brown, that she was awake and “watching him”, the truth is that she’s still very much in the medically induced coma doctors placed her in back at the end of January, when she was found face-down in her bathtub at home. It’s incredibly sad, and chances are she’s just not going to make it, but before the Houston and Brown families can come to an agreement on what to do, Bobby wants to get his hands on his daughter’s estate.
From NBC 11:
Bobby Brown has filed for guardianship over Bobbi Kristina Brown’s estate.
Bobbi Kristina, the 22-year-old daughter of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston, was placed in a medically-induced coma after being found unresponsive in a Roswell home on Jan. 31. Last month, she was moved from Emory University Hospital to DeKalb Medical Center.
David W. Long, the attorney for Bobbi Kristina’s grandmother Cissy Houston released a statement saying:
This is a family matter involving sensitive information. We hope to resolve this in a manner that is respectful of Bobbi Kristina’s sensitive health information. The Houston family has always looked out for the best interest of Bobbi Kristina Brown. The family has done so all of her life and will continue to do so. We trust that others have the same objective.
Yikes. Please do not let this man have ANY control over anything of Bobbi’s. He was barely there throughout her life and I don’t trust him not to squander every last penny she owns. And why would he be filing for this now? Yes, I know it could be that both sides of the family are starting to accept her fate, but it just seems seriously tacky. I know it has to be dealt with, but I think Bobby’s a sleazeball and this whole thing is a mess.
If she passes intestate, likely he will be given her estate anyways as she was not legally married and has no children. the next lineal line would be her Father. As for taking it over now, she has been in the hospital for months I’m sure she still has bills that need to be paid (mortgage/rent, any internet cable subscriptions) and someone needs to be taking care of them/cancelling things. Whether or not that’s what he wants to do with the estate.. I dont know.
