Blake Lively gave birth to a daughter named James with husband Ryan Reynolds late last year, and she’s been enjoying the motherhood experience ever since. Her full time job used to be acting, and she’d spend her days on film and TV sets without a care in the world. She’s got a different line of work now: breastfeeding.
From Allure:
For Lively, breast-feeding has been “a full-time job,” she says. “I’m, like, driving down the road, pumping.” At the time of our interview, Lively and Reynolds hadn’t revealed their daughter’s name. (Reynolds later confirmed that her name is James.) “It’s her life,” Lively told us. “She should have her privacy until she chooses not to have her privacy, just as I got to choose and my husband got to choose.”
Oh man, these actresses love to talk about pumping milk out of their boobs like they’re the first women to ever do it, don’t they? Granted, this is an interview and no doubt she was asked about it and it’s a pretty universal thing for women who choose and/or are able to do it, but the post-childbirth haze of interviews are always a bit of a downer.
On a more enjoyable, gossip-y note, Blake admitted she felt like being on Gossip Girl was “compromising” of her personal morals:
“People loved it, but it always felt a little personally compromising — you want to be putting a better message out there,” she shares. “I would not be proud to be the person who gave someone the cocaine that made them overdose and then shot someone and slept with someone else’s boyfriend.”
Whatever, girl. You still cashed them checks and we wouldn’t know your name without it, so bye.
