Bobbi Kristina probably isn’t going to make it

Every time I report on this story, I just keep wanting to say how sad it is. A little less than a week after Bobbi Kristina was found face down in a bathtub at her home, things aren’t looking very good and according to Fox 411, it’s simply a “matter of when” the Houston family is ready to let her go.

“It’s now a matter of when the family wants to let go and accept that she’s pretty much not going to make it,” a source closely connected to the situation told FOX411, adding that doctors have expressed that there is little they can do. “They’ve left it up to the family as to how long they want to keep her alive.”

It’s so tragic, really. While her condition had apparently been slightly improved earlier this week, the fact of the matter is that her brain was without oxygen for up to 8 minutes or something ridiculous, so even if she managed to survive, it’s pretty clear that she would probably never be able to function normally again, if at all.

People reports that the family is at Bobbi’s bedside paying their final respects:

“Everyone is coming to the hospital to say goodbye,” says a family member.

The news was especially devastating to her father, Bobby Brown. “Bobby has been crying nonstop since yesterday,” says the source. “We are grieving.”

A second family member went by the hospital overnight to say goodbye – and admits that the devastating news is hard to believe.

“If you saw her, you’d think she was just sleeping,” says the source.  But even with the bleakest prognosis, the family is still clinging to some hope. “It’s sinking in that this is it,” says the second family member, “but we’re all still praying that God will intervene and heal her body.”

Of course, she could still make a turnaround – there is always that hope. And after everything this family has been through, I can see why they would want to hold onto every last ounce of hope they can. I’m sure this is never what Whitney would have dreamed for herself and her daughter. Such a shame.
