Amanda Bynes is, apparently, working on getting her life together again. She was last seen checking out the psychology program at USC, and while most of us are probably raising our eyebrows at the idea of Amanda “doing well”, apparently she’s got her family convinced this time, as well, as she’s off her meds and still pretty lucid.
Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ … Amanda is off all meds, including Adderall, which caused her to get a DUI.
When you speak with Amanda there is no way you would know she’s been diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolarity. She is completely lucid.
We’re told things have stabilized so much, her parents have given her limited access again to bank accounts. She spends her time reading, doing yoga, meditation and pilates … all stress reducers which doctors say are important for these mental disorders.
We’re also told Amanda’s recent trip to USC — where she’d like to enroll as a psych major — was all planned by her.
Here’s the rub. Doctors have told Amanda’s family, people with such mental illnesses sometimes rebound and they can be ok for months, only to relapse again.
The family believes during these stable periods, the best thing is to give Amanda enough freedom to enjoy it.
Well, at least the doctors have made them aware that this state is probably not permanent and there’s a huge chance that she will relapse. I’m wondering whether they have told her to come off the meds or if Amanda is self-doctoring at the moment and feels she doesn’t need them. You’d think, given her experiences (and the chances of being put on another 5150 should things get out of hand yet again), she would try to do everything possible to stay on the straight and narrow. I hope she does!
Adderall does not cause someone to get a dui. So sick of this bimbo.
And furthermore, people with these disorders don’t just get well enough to stop taking meds. They’re on them for life.
Diana i hate to break it to you… but driving while on medication whether prescribed or not… can get you a dui… dont believe me… ask my father in-law who is a cop
First of all – I love how people put things the way you just. Sure, I’ll run right over to you place and ask you dad because a) I care that much about Amanda Bynes and her drug problem, and b) since your dad is clearly the one and only expert in the field.
I’m more than certain that you can, in fact, get a dui for having too much adderall or any drug, in your system. Taken as prescribed however, you should not have a problem. The point of my comment is that this bimbo needs to stop blaming other people and things (like adderall) for her problems. She, and she alone, got herself into these messes — not the drug.
